We know there are channels and programs out there that can generate meaningful new revenue for Metabase — we just haven't found all of them yet. That's the job. You'll design and run a disciplined portfolio of experiments across paid, owned, and earned channels — newsletters, Reddit, Meta, email, digital events, conference sponsorships, and more — to figure out what actually works for our audience. You won't just run campaigns; you'll build the testing infrastructure and measurement rigor that turns early signals into scalable programs.
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable sketching a creative concept and building a performance tracking spreadsheet — and who finds genuine satisfaction in applying the scientific method to marketing.
What You'll Own
Develop and maintain a pipeline of experiments across channels — paid social, newsletters, community platforms, email, digital events, conference sponsorships, and others
Design each test with a clear hypothesis, defined success metrics, and a realistic timeline for learning
Identify and evaluate new channel opportunities — from niche SMB technology newsletters to retargeting programs for closed-lost accounts — and build the case for where to invest next
Stay close to where Metabase's target audiences (data teams, developers, technical buyers) actually spend their time, and bring creative ideas for reaching them there
Own campaign execution end-to-end: briefing copy and creative, coordinating with internal stakeholders, managing vendor relationships, and hitting launch dates
Run programs across a wide range of formats — newsletter sponsorships, Reddit and Meta ad campaigns, retargeting, closed-lost re-engagement, digital events like demo weeks, and conference sponsorships
Work closely with the PMM and content teams to ensure messaging is sharp, on-brand, and tailored to the channel and audience
Manage budgets and allocate spend across the portfolio based on performance and learning goals
Define KPIs for every program before it launches — and hold yourself accountable to them
Build and maintain dashboards that make campaign performance visible and legible to stakeholders across marketing and sales
Synthesize results into clear, actionable learnings: what worked, what didn't, what to do next, and what to kill
Develop a compounding library of learnings that makes each new test smarter than the last
Test design and channel exploration
Execution and coordination
Measurement and iteration
What You Bring
Proven experience running multi-channel marketing campaigns in a B2B SaaS environment, with clear ownership of performance outcomes
A structured, experimental mindset: you define success before you start, and you know how to isolate variables to get a clean signal
Hands-on experience with paid channels (Meta, Reddit, LinkedIn, or similar), email platforms, and campaign reporting tools
Strong project management skills — you can coordinate copy, creative, approvals, and launch logistics across multiple programs simultaneously without dropping the ball
Comfort with ambiguity: many of the channels you'll test won't have a playbook yet, and you'll need to write it
Strong written communication skills — not just for briefing creative, but for synthesizing and sharing what you've learned
Bonus: experience marketing to technical audiences (developers, data engineers, analysts)
Bonus: familiarity with the data and analytics tools landscape
