WHO WE ARE
PEAK6 Capital Management is a proprietary options trading firm that has been defining the industry for more than 25 years. While many firms have come and gone, PEAK6 Capital Management has consistently delivered liquidity to the options market. We thrive due to our firm's special blend of financial acumen, ability to manage risk, and cutting-edge technology.
Our success is driven by our team of technologists, engineers, and traders who leverage proprietary tech and a data-centric approach to maintain inventory and stay ahead of the markets, so customers can, too.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking a Delta One Trader to join a new Middle Office group within PEAK6 Capital Management. This is a hands-on role overseeing our Delta One portfolio, which includes managing the firm's balance sheet, portfolio costs, and returns. As the group progresses, the role's responsibilities will expand into capital and asset management across multiple PEAK6 entities. Over time, you will help answer questions that span the entire PEAK6 investment portfolio: where capital should sit, how it moves between entities, and how positions are margined and financed. This is not a traditional Delta One trading seat. It is a role for someone whose core skills are rooted in trading and who wants to become the person the organization leans on when a problem touches risk, capital, and operations at once.
You'll be Responsible for:
  • Learn and take over day-to-day management of the Delta One book: trading reversals, conversions, boxes, and other RWA offsets
  • Manage nightly balance sheet and RWA to maintain target resource utilization profiles while minimizing our portfolio funding costs
  • Own and improve the Delta One tooling and infrastructure: pricing suite, position management, and PnL attribution/reporting
  • Enhance the firm's portfolio financing toolkit, help evaluate trade-offs in financing and capital treatment across products and entities
  • Help manage relationships with banking partners
  • Partner with our Risk, Finance, and Operations teams on capital movement, margin efficiency, and cash management across our various investment entities
  • Help grow the Middle Office function as a whole and maximize its value to the organization

YOUR EXPERIENCE:
  • 2-5 years of experience in trading, middle office, or treasury at a prop firm, market maker, bank, or hedge fund
  • Working knowledge of portfolio margining, prime brokerage financing, and capital requirements (risk-based haircuts, RWA, or similar frameworks)
  • Comfort with python and SQL; you will build and maintain your own tooling
  • Strong collaboration skills, comfortable working across different teams
  • Strong sense of ownership and high attention to detail
  • A self-directed mindset and comfort with a broad, evolving mandate; you are excited by the variety of problems rather than looking for a narrowly defined seat
  • Must obtain a Series 57 license if not already held
  • Prior experience with securities lending, repo, treasury management, or portfolio financing is a strong plus
  • Understanding of options theory and other derivatives is a strong plus
