Our Home is seeking a Deductions Analyst to focus on Customer Noncompliance fines/chargebacks. This role is responsible for identifying, researching, and root-causing noncompliance deductions, partnering cross-functionally with our 3PL customer service and logistics teams to prevent repeat fines and improve compliance performance. It’s a hands-on analyst position for someone who enjoys investigating issues, working through portals and documentation, and turning findings into clear corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the noncompliance deductions workflow from intake through resolution
- Review, categorize, and prioritize noncompliance chargebacks/fines
- Determine validity and dispute eligibility based on customer requirements and documentation
- Root-cause analysis & prevention
- Identify patterns by customer, DC, lane, carrier, SKU, ship point, reason code, etc.
- Partner with 3PL customer service/logistics to isolate the operational cause (labeling, ASN/EDI, routing, OTIF windows, POD/BOL gaps, carton/pallet config, shortages, etc.)
- Document root causes and recommend corrective actions to reduce repeats
- Disputes & documentation
- Gather and validate supporting documents (POD, BOL, packing lists, EDI/ASN, routing confirmations, appointment/receiving details)
- Submit disputes/appeals via customer portals and track outcomes through closure
- Reporting & communication
- Maintain trackers and provide recurring updates: open balance, wins/losses, trends, top offenders, prevention actions
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners on status and next steps
- Process improvement
- Help build a repeatable noncompliance process (SOPs, reason-code library, playbooks by customers
- Recommend improvements to reduce revenue leakage and improve compliance
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in deductions/chargebacks, AR, claims, or retail compliance (CPG/retail preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of noncompliance fines and shipping documentation (POD/BOL/pack list/appointment details)
- Comfortable working across multiple customer portals and systems
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (filters, pivots, lookups, basic data cleanup)
- Excellent written communication: concise, factual, and action-oriented
- High ownership and follow-through in a remote environment
- Occasional travel to supplier sites or manufacturing facilities up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large retailers and/or distributors (e.g., Walmart/Sam’s, Target, Amazon, Kroger, Albertsons, UNFI, KeHE, etc.)
- Experience working with a 3PL and understanding warehouse/transport workflows
- Familiarity with EDI/ASN concepts and common compliance failure points
