JOB SUMMARY
This position is eligible for remote work in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. This position will require some travel for office meetings, as needed, to our corporate office in Tulsa, OK.
Position Overview:
ONEOK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DataOps Engineer to join our growing Data Operations team. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering enterprise data solutions that create meaningful business value. You’ll work on deploying our business intelligence platforms to the organization at enterprise scale and following best practices around data management, data quality, and data governance.
We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in Power BI, Spotfire, or other similar data analytics tools. Additionally, experience with Databricks, AWS, Alation, SharePoint, and Semarchy is preferred. You’ll be responsible for access and integration patterns that support data and analytics delivery to varied roles across the organization including data analysts, data engineers, data scientists, robotic process automation analysts, and business analysts. This position will need to operate with limited supervision and collaborate closely with IT teams, business units, and data consumers to ensure solutions meet both technical and business needs.
This position also offers the opportunity to drive innovation by evaluating and implementing modern tools and platforms. We value automation and efficiency, so you’ll be expected to identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort. All solutions must be built with a focus on reliability, reusability, and compliance with data governance and security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement scalable BI solutions using Power BI and Spotfire.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Optimize Power BI and Spotfire performance to reduce latency and report load times.
Partnering with Data Reporting Services and Data Governance, establish good governance and data management.
Maintain and evaluate need for Power BI Data Gateways, especially across disparate IT networks.
Evaluate multiple deployment models including on-premise, cloud, hybrid, and SaaS.
Enable cross-tenant sharing capabilities between multiple Power BI tenants.
Implement varied authentication protocols and SSO integrations.
Design Role Based Access Control (RBAC), especially with respect to row and column level security.
Integrate Python and R capabilities with Power BI and Spotfire, where necessary.
Implement CI/CD pipelines within Power BI and Spotfire for promoting workloads across environments.
Troubleshoot and improve application performance and integration.
Partner with Information Security to keep data secure in transit and at rest across the data analytics landscape.
Stay current with Power BI updates and industry trends to continuously improve BI capabilities.
Contribute input to the data strategy and provide feedback to help ensure we are aligned with user needs.
Qualifications:
8+ years of data experience.
Experience in Power BI, Spotfire, or other similar tools.
Experience in Databricks, AWS, Azure, M365, SharePoint, Alation Data Catalog, Semarchy Data Mastering.
Experience in data modeling and data analytics development.
Experience in software development and programming concepts/techniques
Experience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle methodology and project management concepts
Experience developing information, conducting meetings and making presentations
Experience coordinating with and training other project members
Experience with infrastructure technologies and the ability to understand/communicate impacts resulting from development activities
Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work
Proven ability to engage, advise, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively—both in writing and verbally—to stakeholders at all levels, including management and peers.

Lead role responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle for both package and custom developed applications, including in software design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance activities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Works independent with limited supervision as subject matter expert (SME), to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software solutions as prioritized by the business including creating and updating system documentation and training materials
Lead design, development, testing, maintenance and documentation of reliable and scalable software solutions, as prioritized by the business, according to facts, policies and practices that will support user requirements
Manage large projects and processes through entire system development life cycle
Lead gathering and documenting of business requirements to determine capabilities to be delivered. Consult with users on priorities, complexities and other impacts of the requirements. Provide time and cost estimates for proposed changes resulting from the requirements
Coordinate and communicate development activities with other team members, infrastructure personnel, vendors and management
Follow defined change control and compliance procedures associated with software development, including all required documentation and governance standards.
Identify opportunities to deploy existing solutions in other business areas
Interact with business users via consulting and training to ensure effective use of technology solutions
Collaborate with key process owners on the documentation of difficult, complex application defects, enhancements and/or projects
Coach, review and delegate to lower level professionals

Education
Bachelor's Degree in MIS, computer science, mathematics, or other related field or equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience
