We’re looking to expand our team across the board.
We are seeking a Senior Structural Analyst to support design and analysis for the creation of these aerospace technologies. You will be accountable for execution of all structural dynamic and static analyses of spacecraft flight hardware as well as Mechanical Ground Support Equipment. In this role, you will be expected to coordinate activities across functional groups, influencing and improving new and existing designs. Strong communication skills will be required in this role as you will be expected to present results to our customers at various technical reviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with a team of Structural Engineers that are accountable for all static and dynamic structural analyses for spacecraft flight hardware and mechanical ground support equipment.
- Maintain processes, tools and design guidance for all structural analysis work performed at York Space Systems with the support of your team.
- Plan program related work, assign work to team members based on their skill set and development needs, communicate load capacity planning and hiring needs to leadership.
- Collaborate with the mechanical design engineers on new designs, design trades, and existing designs including suggestions on how to improve the designs.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams of engineers while working multiple space projects in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
- Review test plans; static, separation dynamics, vibration, modal and shock test execution, and post-test reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience as a structural analyst.
- Advanced understanding of structures and structural dynamics through education and work experience.
- Expertise with spacecraft or aircraft structural static and dynamic methods.
- Proficiency in application of finite element analysis principles anchored with hand calculation methods.
- Excellent FEMAP and NASTRAN skills.
- Demonstrates self-initiated work in a team environment with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
