Summary
The Data Warehouse Engineer designs, builds, and optimizes next-generation data pipelines and transformation layers using Databricks, SQL, and modern ELT frameworks. The Data Warehouse Engineer plays a critical role in shaping the foundation of our data infrastructure, supporting both internal and client facing teams enabling critical reporting, analytics, and operational workflows. The Data Warehouse Engineer is a highly technical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex data modeling and integration challenges. The DWE understands business context and can move quickly between design, deployment, and iteration.
Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Transformation
- Builds robust, scalable, and well-documented SQL models for BI tools, reporting layers, and operational use cases
- Translates business requirements into efficient, accurate data transformations that align with real-world metrics and definitions
- Applies best practices in data modeling
Pipeline Development & Orchestration
- Develops and manages ELT pipelines using SQL and Python to support large, complex datasets
- Optimizes for performance, reliability, and scalability across the entire data stack
- Utilizes tools including Airflow, dbt or Dataform to orchestrate transformations
Version Control & Deployment
- Manages code changes and deployments using Git-based workflows (branching, pull requests, CI/CD where applicable)
- Owns the structure and cadence of the transformation code repositories
API Integrations
- Designs and maintains scalable API pipelines to ingest third-party data sources (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics)
- Handles authentication, pagination, rate limits, and error management
Monitoring & Data Quality
- Implements robust testing, data validation, and alerting to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Champions data quality governance throughout the pipeline and warehouse
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serves as the technical partner for RevOps, BI, and other cross-functional teams. Partners with stakeholders to ensure models and pipelines meet real-time business needs
Essential Requirements
- Expert level in Databricks SQL, PySpark, and Delta Lake architecture
- Advanced SQL development and performance tuning experience
- Hands-on experience with Dataform (SQLX) or similar tools
- Experience working in modern ELT environments (e.g., BigQuery, Databricks SQL Warehousing)
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting and data profiling
- Strong grasp of data modeling best practices (schemas, slowly changing dimensions, etc.)
- Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced DataOps environment, balancing speed with technical debt management
- Experience with dbt, Dataform, or similar transformation frameworks
- Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt Cloud jobs)
- Experience with BI tools such as Sigma, Looker, Tableau
- Experience ingesting data from external platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Google Analytics
- Dev ops and CI/CD experience, preferably with GitHub and GitHub actions
- Extensive experience working with business owners
- Highly skilled in creating and maintaining backlog, trouble ticket system, managing escalations, communicating problems timely
- Deep understanding of fostering a culture of data stewardship and ownership to quickly resolve source data issues
- Experience in a professional services or consulting environment preferred
- Understanding of key services metrics such as utilization, bill rates, burn rates, allocation, etc. preferred
- Familiarity with time materials vs. fixed fee engagement tracking preferred
Salary and Benefits

For the position of Data Warehouse Engineer, the base salary range is $91,970 – $121,200. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition, employees may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Please note that salary ranges are subject to change and may be modified at any time.
