Job Overview

Primarily responsible for creating machine learning analytics that will be integrated into streaming data processing pipelines and appealing user interfaces that provide real-time situational awareness and expose advanced analytics to end users. This includes advanced mathematical and statistical analysis for manipulating, formatting, and corroborating data sources. Data scientists are responsible for generating "gold" data sets for training, testing, and verification of concepts and models.  Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of machine learning analytics for the target application.  Works closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between streaming data processing pipelines and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.  Develops analytics test procedures, analytics, and related documentation. Specialists are full performance engineers that can execute derived tasks autonomously and seamlessly work as part of a team contributing to larger technical objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Lead the development of critical data analytics.
• Design and implement high-performance, scalable data analytic solutions.
• Perform complex debugging and troubleshooting.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and associates.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Competencies:

• Strong understanding of data science and analytic development principles.
• Expertise in multiple data science methods and technologies.

Salary Range:

The salary and compensation for this position will be determined based on skill level, experience, and education as applicable. These factors include, but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, ability to fulfill all job requirements, education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, bargaining agreements (if any), or other applicable law.

Required Qualifications/Education: Performance equivalent to or greater than 10 years of experience in an engineering or technical discipline.  Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees in a Technical or Engineering Discipline can be substituted for 2, 4, 6, or 8 years of equivalent experience, respectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of data science methods and technologies.

Security Clearance Requirements:  TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph is required to start (no sponsorship possible)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements: General office environment.  Must be able to work at a desk for 8 hours per day and operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
