Position Summary

The experienced Data Reliability Engineer is responsible for the bulletproof integrity of our core power infrastructure data. You won't just be moving data; you will be building the automated systems, complex SQL validators, and PL/SQL packages that ensure our data is complete, timely, and hyper-accurate. We are seeking a "heavy-duty" Data Reliability specialist who combines deep database programming expertise with a rigorous QA mindset.

Position Details

  • Salary range: $90,000 - $115,000, Dependent on Experience
  • Location: Boulder, CO (Hybrid)
  • Full-Time
  • Reporting to: Director of Content Engineering
  • Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Advanced Data Quality Engineering: Design and implement automated QA frameworks within the database to detect anomalies, data drifts, and logic errors in real-time.
  • PL/SQL & SQL Development: Write complex, high-performance PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and packages specifically for data validation, cleansing, and ETL audit trails.
  • Deep-Dive Root Cause Analysis: Act as the final line of defense for data discrepancies. Use expert-level SQL and front end tools to trace data issues back to source systems, primary research, user error or transformation logic.  
  • Database Architecture for Quality: Collaborate on schema design to ensure data models enforce referential integrity and support efficient quality-control indexing.
  • Automated Monitoring: Build and maintain proactive "health check" dashboards and alerting systems that monitor the completeness and timeliness of thousands of daily data feeds.
  • Process Standards: Lead the charge on technical standards for database change control, ensuring all SQL deployments meet SOC2 compliance and rigorous internal testing protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development.
  • Proven track record in Data QA or Quality Control, specifically building automated test suites.
  • Expertise in writing complex analytical queries to validate datasets against expected outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of Liquibase (for database version control), GitHub, and Jira.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Energy Markets data is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with SOC2 compliance and secure data handling.
  • Experience integrating Geospatial data or AI/ML models into a QA pipeline.
