Job Summary
The Data Product Owner is responsible for leading the development and delivery of data products
that support business strategy and decision-making. This role collaborates with cross-functional
teams—including stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and business units—to define product
vision, manage the product backlog, and ensure execution of data initiatives aligned with
organizational goals and user needs.
Qualifications
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
Work Experience Required:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a data-driven environment.
- Strong background in data engineering, data analytics, or data science.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake) and data tools (e.g., SQL, ETL, BI tools).
Preferred Qualifications, Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience, etc.:
- Experience in data modeling, API management, and machine learning would be advantageous.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile Product Owner certification.
- Certified Product Manager (CPM) or Pragmatic Institute Certification.
- DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent data governance/data management certification.
- Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Certified Data Analyst.
- dbt Fundamentals or dbt Advanced Certification.
- Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification.
- Certification in Agile (e.g., Certified SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager).
- Experience working with data products or platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure Data Lake.
- A Master’s degree is a plus

- This role involves interaction and collaboration with other departments and requires excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with experience managing product backlogs using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed, data driven decisions.
- Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance best practices.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and communicate the vision and roadmap for data products, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, user requirements, and product opportunities.
- Prioritize and manage the data product backlog in alignment with organizational goals, ensuring that all features, enhancements, and technical improvements are documented, approved, and scheduled in accordance with established processes.
- Translate approved business requirements into clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that provide actionable direction for technical teams.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Data Governance teams to maintain, refine, and update the backlog, ensuring alignment with regulatory, operational, and security standards.
- Ensure backlog items are accurately documented, appropriately prioritized, and properly estimated, in compliance with Agile delivery practices and internal change management procedures.
- Support sprint planning and release management activities by confirming that all backlog items meet defined readiness criteria prior to development.
- Maintain records of backlog prioritization decisions and stakeholder approvals in accordance with GoHealth Urgent Care policies and applicable data governance frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and transparency
- Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to gather feedback, resolve issues, and adjust the data product roadmap
Development Oversight
- Guide cross-functional teams through the data product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery
- Ensure data products are built to specification, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time
- Collaborate on acceptance criteria and review completed work to confirm it meets the definition of done
Data Governance & Quality
- Ensure data products maintain integrity, accuracy, and accessibility
- Support the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and policies
Market & User Research
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps in data products
- Engage with end users to gather insights, identify pain points, and validate product value
Product Metrics & Performance
- Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate product performance and drive continuous improvement
- Present performance insights to leadership, highlighting key metrics, risks, and opportunities
Innovation & Improvement

Physical Requirements
- Office Environment: Tasks may be conducted within a climate-controlled office setting.
- Physical Activity: The role may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment (up to 25 lbs.). Duties typically involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent changes in position.
- Travel: Travel may be required, including travel between Company locations and out-oftown destinations as needed. Up to 10%.
- Safety Equipment: May require the use of safety equipment for infection prevention.
