Team Overview:

Aladdin is a tech platform that unifies the investment management process across public and private markets—through a common data language—to enable scale, provide insights, and support business transformation.

​​​​​​​Aladdin is BlackRock’s centralized operating platform integrating risk, investment and client management processes. Aladdin is a technology business delivered to clients around the world and Aladdin is the technology, tools and methodology by which we solve complex problems.

The Aladdin organization at BlackRock encompasses six teams and focuses on delivering Aladdin for BlackRock and our external Aladdin clients. 

Aladdin Data: Supports the data needs for BlackRock and Aladdin clients including delivering portfolio and risk analytics and maintaining accuracy throughout the Aladdin databases. ​​​

Role Overview:

We are looking for a high performing individual who is passionate about data to provide operational support across various data assets such as reference and market data, risk analytics, index data and client reporting data. Initially you will proactively identify and resolve data issues to ensure high quality on time data for our clients.  In addition, you will optimize data operations and understand how our clients use their data and how the portfolio analytics package are delivered.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality client service externally and internally. Address inquiries, perform controls, Data modeling, resolve problems, and mitigate risks for clients and internal BlackRock partners.
  • Learn the intricacies of our Aladdin® end to end investment platform.
  • Monitor and optimize data performance to meet and exceed established service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Gain broad experience in Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Alternatives, across the vast global investment marketplace.
  • Investigate and resolve challenging issues and perform ad hoc analysis of large data sets while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Partner with business analysts and developers in innovation to improve the Aladdin product, build process efficiency and scale, improve data quality, reduce operating risk, and navigate the changing market.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required, with preference to business subject areas such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and technical fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • 0-3 years’ experience in hands-on data operations including data monitoring and client support.
  • General knowledge of SQL, UNIX, or Python is a plus; desire to expand technical expertise preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of fixed income, equity and derivative instruments is nice to have
  • A “Student of the Markets” mentality: Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business.
  • Natural teammate able to work in an innovative, ambitious, and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with agile critical thinking and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Experience with Project Management and familiarity with Agile methodology is a plus

Our hybrid work model
