The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering, updating, organizing, and maintaining company information in databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
Enter data accurately and efficiently into company databases, spreadsheets, and software systems.
Review source documents and verify information for completeness and accuracy.
Update existing records and correct errors or discrepancies.
Maintain organized electronic and physical records.
Perform data validation and quality-control checks.
Compare information from multiple sources and identify inconsistencies.
Process invoices, forms, applications, orders, customer records, or other documents as assigned.
Scan, upload, rename, and organize electronic documents.
Retrieve information and prepare basic reports when requested.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company, customer, employee, and financial information.
Communicate with other departments to resolve missing or incorrect information.
Respond to routine email and data-related inquiries.
Assist with filing, administrative tasks, and general office support.
Follow company procedures for data security, record retention, and document management.
Meet established productivity, accuracy, and turnaround-time standards.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous data entry, clerical, administrative, or office experience preferred.
Strong typing and computer skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, sorting, filtering, and formatting.
Familiarity with scanning, electronic filing, and document-management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in data entry or administrative support.
Experience working with large volumes of records or transactions.
Experience with accounting, inventory, healthcare, customer service, or other industry-specific databases, depending on the employer.
Strong Excel skills, including formulas and data filtering.
Experience identifying and correcting data discrepancies.
