Position Summary
The Data Engineer II is a mid-level role responsible for designing and owning complex, scalable data pipelines and models across GT’s technology platform. You will enhance the reliability, performance, and accessibility of data used by internal teams and external partners who rely on accurate information to support participant choice and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance data pipelines that support mission-critical systems such as payroll, EVV, and compliance reporting.
- Architect and optimize data models to support analytics, dashboards, and state program reporting.
- Implement automation, monitoring, alerting, and system resiliency improvements.
- Integrate data from multiple internal and external systems (e.g., Medicaid waivers, care delivery programs).
- Lead data quality initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity across GT data assets.
- Contribute to best practices around security, governance, and HITRUST-aligned data handling.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to translate business processes into scalable data solutions.
- Mentor Data Engineer I team members and guide technical decision-making.
Qualifications
Required
- 4+ years of professional data engineering experience.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience building complex ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and distributed processing.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Ability to independently design scalable, maintainable data solutions.
Preferred
- Experience with healthcare or FMS data, compliance workflows, or state reporting.
- Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.
- Understanding of security frameworks (e.g., HITRUST).
- Background working with large-scale or regulated data environments.
