General Description: The Data Engineer I works as part of the Data Engineering Team. This position will be responsible for running queries and procedures under existing documentation. A focus of data level tickets that require minor data manipulation may also be required. Responsible for documenting data processes and integrations. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Basic understanding of TSQL as well as Access interfaces

• Establish documentation for entry level tasks

• Basic query execution for data exports

• Investigation into data anomalies and exceptions

• Provides regular status reports on assigned tasks

• Researches and resolves data defects of varying complexity

• Maintains and updates all documentation related to assigned products

• Evaluates interrelationships between applications data such as whether a contemplated change to the data would cause unwanted results in an application or process

• Confers with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing data needs

• Resolves questions of data intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls

• Maintains confidentiality about the information being processed, stored or accessed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Knowledge of T-SQL and MS Access. Ability to process data and to format and generate exports. Ability to implement and troubleshoot data changes and modifications that may affect applications and reports. Ability to write technical instructions in the use of data related processes. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported or updated.
