Crop Insurance Product Development Specialist
American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. (AFBIS, Inc.), provider of support and crop insurance services to Farm Bureau insurance companies, is looking for a Crop Insurance Product Development Specialist to work out of our Fargo, ND office. We will also consider experienced remote talent for this position.
In this newly created role, you assist in the creation of a variety of new Crop Insurance products and will focus on filing and form organization and will assist with updating and maintaining current products through policy development, filing, and implementation.

The Crop Insurance Product Development Specialist will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the development of private products, crop hail products and product enhancements
- Preparing policy documents, forms, and other documents to support company strategic objectives, increase sales and expand product offerings to new and existing markets.
- Assisting in compiling and analyzing competitor’s rates and rules and with state insurance filings via SERFF for crop products
- Assisting the Crop Insurance Product Development Manager with organizing and maintaining forms
- Working with other departments with developing training and promotional materials for adjusters, employees, and agents to use.
- Assisting in revisions and implementation of underwriting guidelines, rules, and procedures.
- Communicating with IT and other departments regarding new and revised products and changes
What you will bring to this position:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years’ working with crop named peril, crop hail and private crop products
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication, research and problem-solving skills with the ability to come up with alternative solutions
- Experience working with SERFF filings is a plus
- Policy creating and writing experience is a plus
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $70,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
