The Creative Lead - Graphic/User Interface Designer plays a pivotal role in bringing innovative ideas to fruition from conception through completion. You will use the creative direction to deliver industry leading content activations for US Foods and it’s brands (Exclusive Brands and Manufactured Brands), platforms (website, etc.) and initiatives in alignment with established category strategies that exceed the expectations of the initial creative brief and that position US Foods, and all of our exclusive brands, as the leader in our industry.

New Ways of Work: This position has been segmented as hybrid meaning the work is a combination of 3 days onsite In Rosemont, IL (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remotely (Monday and Friday) as defined by the role segmentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Lead, Establish, manage, maintain and inspire the creative direction and goals for specific projects ensuring they fit the Client, brand, and business objectives

  • Think conceptually and strategically to discover the best way to problem-solve for design and technical challenges and produce on-strategy, on-brand design solutions that exceed client expectations

  • Function effectively within a team environment brainstorming with others, embracing feedback, and seeing the work through from early ideation to the nitty-gritty details

  • Mentor junior team members to ensure achievable workload balance, effective challenges for each team member’s skill level, and career development

  • Provide guidance to the Creative team relative to the team’s knowledge and understanding of the client’s business and marketing needs

  • Execute across a range of brand touchpoints, from print to digital to motion to environments

  • Stays current with design trends and how technology and standard methodologies are evolving in the industry - proactively identifies design capabilities and opportunities that should be adopted within the team

  • Other duties as assigned by manager

SUPERVISION:

  • No direct reports – delegates resources to achieve project requirements

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Category Management, Marketing, Creative

  • External: Vendors, Suppliers, Agencies, Contractors

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid: This role is partially remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and office-based environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design or other relevant area

  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of project management

  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud Applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After effects), Premier, Microsoft Office, HTML, CSS, Salesforce email platform and Adobe Experience Manager

  • Possess a keen understanding of marketing principles and concepts, as well as the ability to develop project plans

  • Have a high degree of organization and creativity

  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external partners to keep projects on time and on budget

  • Up to 10% overnight travel may be required based on business needs

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Media, Marketing or other related field required, or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience managing to a budget preferred

  • Food and beverage photography and art direction preferred

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Standard required physical activities including length of time performing each activity.

This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).  The expected base rate for this role is between

$65,000 - $100,000
