We are seeking an exceptionally talented and visionary Creative Director to lead our creative team and shape the aesthetic and strategic direction of Ibotta’s marketing, advertising, and branding initiatives. The Creative Director will be responsible for developing innovative creative concepts, ensuring brand consistency, and inspiring a team of designers and other creative professionals to produce compelling and effective work that resonates with our target audience and drives our mission forward. This role requires a blend of artistry, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

Creative Leadership & Strategy:

  • Define and articulate the overall creative vision and strategy for the company, aligning with business goals and brand identity.

  • Lead the development of innovative and impactful creative concepts across various platforms (e.g., digital, video, social media, events, experiential, sales materials).

  • Ensure all creative output maintains a high level of quality, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to continually evolve and refine creative approaches.

  • Present and pitch creative concepts to internal stakeholders and clients, effectively articulating the rationale and expected impact.

Team Management & Development:

  • Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing creative team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.

  • Manage creative workflow, prioritize projects, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work within budget.

  • Conduct performance reviews and support the growth of individual team members.

Project Execution & Oversight:

  • Oversee the entire creative process from concept to completion, ensuring all deliverables meet strategic objectives and quality standards.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and external agencies, to ensure seamless integration of creative efforts.

  • Approve final creative assets, ensuring they are polished, effective, and on-brand.

  • Manage and allocate creative resources effectively to optimize output and efficiency.

Brand Guardianship:

  • Act as a brand champion, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and visual identity across all touchpoints.

  • Develop and refine brand guidelines and ensure their consistent application.

  • Conduct brand audits and make recommendations for improvement.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in a creative role, with at least 5+ years in a leadership or Creative Director position, preferably in-house within a B2B or B2B2C environment 

  • A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful creative projects across various media.

  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a creative team

  • Experience in technology, e-commerce, or CPG company is a plus

  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Deep understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma)

  • Experience with video production and motion graphics

  • Knowledge of UX/UI best practices

  • Exceptional understanding of digital marketing, social media platforms, and web design principles.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively.

  • Proven project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 Additional Details:

  • This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks, and occasional meals.

  • Base compensation range: $125,000 - $147,000. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
