Role Overview

We are seeking a Creative Director to join our design team at MARA, The global leader in Bitcoin mining. This is a rare opportunity to define and shape the visual identity of one of the world’s most innovative digital asset infrastructure companies. As Creative Director, you will work alongside the VP of Design to craft and uphold our brand vision, drive design excellence, and ensure flawless execution across all creative outputs—from large-scale campaigns to everyday deliverables.

The ideal candidate thrives in a scrappy, high-growth environment and knows how to balance working with a multi-disciplinary team while rolling up their sleeves to directly contribute. You’ll be responsible for maintaining design traction across multiple workstreams, overseeing the design team’s creative execution, and ensuring all deliverables meet our exacting standards of quality and consistency.

This role demands expertise in enterprise-level design systems, corporate collateral, and event-based marketing deliverables. If you are an organized creative leader who can inspire a team while also delivering exceptional design work yourself, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

· Brand Leadership: Partner with the VP of Design to define, evolve, and champion the company’s brand identity across all channels and touchpoints.

· Creative Direction & Quality Control: Provide clear creative direction and hands-on design mentorship to ensure every deliverable, from website design to merchandise, meets the highest standards of design excellence and brand consistency.

· Operational Excellence: Own creative workflow oversight. Proactively manage project pipelines, team bandwidth, and timelines to ensure momentum and timely delivery across multiple design tracks.

· Enterprise Design Systems: Lead the creation, governance, and ongoing refinement of our enterprise design system. Ensure scalable design practices and consistent application across product and marketing workstreams.

· Motion Graphics & Events: Oversee (and occasionally contribute to) the production of motion graphics assets for video content, digital experiences, and conference activations.

· Event-Based Marketing Deliverables: Take ownership of event and conference design needs including booth graphics, signage, swag, wayfinding, stage design concepts, and digital assets for both internal and external corporate events.

· Hands-On Design: Actively design key deliverables including (but not limited to) executive-level presentation decks, branded design system templates, sales one-pagers, web and mobile design mockups, marketing illustrations, key art, and social media graphics.

· UX & Web Oversight: Review and guide web and digital product design projects. Occasionally step in to design components when needed, but primarily focus on providing direction, approvals, and upholding design system standards.

· Team Leadership: Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing design team. Facilitate effective communication between design, product, marketing, and executive stakeholders.

· Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment across departments and advocating for creative excellence.

Required Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communications, Motion Graphics, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

· Experience: 7+ years of design experience with at least 2+ years in a formal creative leadership role.

· Enterprise Design Systems: Proven experience creating, managing, and scaling enterprise design systems across both product and marketing environments.

· Project & Team Management: Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead design teams in fast-paced environments.

· Motion Graphics: Strong understanding of motion graphics pipelines and tools (After Effects, Cinema 4D, etc.) for marketing and event content.

· Events & Experiential Design: Prior experience with conference/event branding deliverables including booth designs, large-format banners, motion displays, and supporting promotional materials.

· Hands-On Design Excellence: Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other standard design tools. You still enjoy getting into the details and setting the standard for design quality.

· UX Knowledge: Experience overseeing UX/UI work for web and mobile, with a strong understanding of usability and accessibility best practices.

· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly articulate design rationale and advocate for design decisions with senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in energy, crypto, blockchain, fintech, or highly technical industries.

· Background in hardware or industrial design collaboration (a plus).

· Familiarity with design project management tools (Jira, Asana, Monday, etc.).

· Passion for building and scaling creative operations from the ground up in a high-growth environment.
