General Responsibilities
Responsible for field implementation of the Novus C.O.W.S. program in Midwest and Central US, in collaboration with other members of the C.O.W.S. team. Provide technical assistance with cow comfort field work and research, including analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, and presenting at customer and industry events. Disseminate the Novus Ruminant product line and support sales strategies combining C.O.W.S. This role will also be key for building customer relationships and sharing industry knowledge to help customers, farmers and cattle. Provide marketing intelligence, proactively sharing unique tools and taking responsibility for personal development.
• Responsible for gathering, collating, and analyzing data of cow comfort measures on dairy farms, using lying time, lameness, and management metrics, and sharing these back to sales managers, customers and industry professionals.
• Work with North American ruminant technical team to develop and implement analyses of cow comfort measures to meet customer needs.
• Draft lay articles and tools for use in the field in collaboration with marketing, legal and sales.
• Gain insight & grow relationships with producers, key customers, and distributors to understand pains and decision-making drivers. Promote growth of ruminant product sales in assigned territory.
• Collaborate with sales managers or technical team to coordinate visits and communicate message points to identify accounts as needed.
• Utilize CRM (Sales Force) platform to monitor customer activity and progress towards goals.
• Participate in all Novus team training exercises and opportunities to ensure personal growth and development. Take a proactive role in looking for opportunities/assignments to enhance personal overall value to the company.
• Provide proper stewardship of Novus resources; adhere to SG&A budget and investigate areas to more effectively manage cost.
• Compliance to the Novus Management System (NMS), Novus Integrity System (NIS), and all policies and procedures related to position assignment, including but not limited to DOA, credit policies, travel and expense report policy, and sales price management policy.
General Guidance for Key Knowledge/Skills/ Experience
• Masters of Science or equivalent in animal sciences, marketing, business or related area.
• Knowledge and understanding of the US ruminant market.
• Initiative to make sure Novus’ resources are properly used to achieve maximum potential.
• Team player to work with sales managers, technical support resources, marketing, and other team members.
• Analytical skills to quantify practical business strategies and solutions to customer needs.
• Interpersonal skills to build relationships as part of a cross-functional team.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage project database and paperwork.
• Ability to interact with dairymen and nutritionists in a comfortable and professional way.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAS)
