Provide front-line security and customer service at a commercial property by conducting patrols, monitoring cameras and access points, greeting visitors, responding to incidents and emergencies, escorting vendors, documenting observations, and coordinating with property management and emergency responders.
The Courtesy Officer plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment within a commercial office or mixed use property. Serving as a front line presence, this position supports daily operations through security monitoring, customer service, and emergency response while helping protect people, property, and the overall tenant experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols of the property
- Monitor security cameras and access points
- Greet visitors and assist tenants with access or inquiries
- Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies
- Escort vendors and unlock authorized areas as needed
- Document incidents, patrols, and observations
- Coordinate with property management and emergency responders
Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Security training or certification preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Prior experience in security, customer service, or law enforcement preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of security systems and emergency procedures
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and observant in high pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and written documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
