Zoom is seeking a creative, business-oriented attorney to join its global legal team as Counsel, Marketing and Online Business. In this role, you will provide strategic legal support to Zoom’s global marketing organization and online business. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to enable compliant, innovative marketing and online experiences that drive growth and customer trust. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on marketing, e‑commerce, and digital product matters, and will thrive in an evolving, collaborative environment. This position reports to Zoom’s Chief Privacy Officer.

About the Team

Zoom’s Legal team is a dynamic group of experienced professionals who work across all business units and product lines to support the company’s growth while managing risk. The team is collaborative, practical, and business-focused, partnering closely with Marketing, Online, Product, and Compliance teams to deliver trusted, scalable legal solutions worldwide. The teams reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer include Privacy, Litigation, Regulatory Compliance, and Marketing/Online Legal.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as primary legal advisor to Zoom's Online business, supporting product launches to market, payment and pricing strategies, and revenue optimization initiatives.

  • Counselling Zoom’s global Marketing teams, supporting digital and social media campaigns, promotions, and strategic initiatives.

  • Providing business-forward legal advice on advertising compliance, consumer protection, IP (trademark, copyright, publicity) and e‑commerce.

  • Providing guidance on claims substantiation, disclosures, brand and content usage, intellectual property, and rights of publicity.

  • Reviewing and negotiating marketing, sponsorship, influencer, brand and content usage, publicity, and agency agreements, online platform contracts, and marketing technology vendor contracts.

  • Reviewing marketing materials and online business flows for compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.

  • Supporting the development of scalable processes, templates, and playbooks to streamline marketing and online legal review.

  • Monitoring emerging legal and regulatory trends affecting digital marketing and online commerce and translate them into actionable business guidance.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders across Zoom's global business and assurance functions including in United States, EMEA, and APAC.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years relevant experience; admitted to the Bar.

  • In- house experience at a consumer-facing technology company, or in the financial, healthcare or other highly regulated industry.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and build consensus among stakeholders and leadership.

  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to adapt writing styles to effectively communicate with various audiences.

  • Superb organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once.

  • Technology savvy and interested in learning new ways of using technology, including AI, to solve problems and enhance productivity.

  • Thrive in an evolving and complex environment.

  • Independent and strategic thinker who is a team player (no job is too small or too large) and is willing to take on additional responsibilities.

  • Possess both excellent legal and business judgment and be comfortable balancing legal risks and business strategy.

  • Able to work independently and remotely with colleagues across the U.S. and globally

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$124,000.00

Maximum:

$271,200.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
