Job Summary:
As a Senior Tax Consultant in the Cost Segregation field, your responsibilities will include leading and managing studies that integrate with long-term planning strategies. Reviewing construction blueprints, physically inspect client facilities, and draft reports. Frequent out-of-town travel is expected, and direct client contact is essential. Additionally, provide supervision, training, and guidance to tax staff and other team members.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Leading and managing multiple studies that integrate with long-term planning strategies
- Construction cost estimating, reviewing and analyzing construction blueprints, physically inspecting client facilities, and drafting reports for clients.
- Inspect client facilities to document the use and condition of buildings.
- Perform engineering investigation of building assets from blueprints and site inspection.
- Estimate construction costs using costing manuals
- Frequent (10% - 20% of time) out-of-town travel would be required, and direct client contact is expected as well
- Proven track record of project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment
- Providing supervision, training, mentoring and guidance to tax staff, seniors and other members of the team
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a cost segregation professional, construction engineering or management, or construction cost estimating
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software - specifically Excel and Word
- Organized, detail-oriented, exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- CPA, PMP, Certified Cost Segregation Professional preferred
- High level knowledge of the general tax depreciation rules preferred
- Self-starter with the ability to manage a project from beginning to end. Work with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information to perform cost segregation studies
- Knowledge of building systems, construction techniques and experience in construction cost estimating preferred
- Ability to drive, manage and develop staff in an interactive team environment
- Exceptional organizational, communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills
