The Strategy Lead will lead strategy development, planning, and execution for New York Life's Business Solutions business. Business Solutions serves the needs of business owners and their employees through workplace-purchased solutions such as Employee's Whole Life and group employee benefits.
This role will serve as a trusted thought partner to the Head of Business Solutions and the Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape the strategic direction of the business and ensure effective execution of key priorities. The Strategy Lead will play a central role in framing complex business challenges, developing actionable recommendations, and driving alignment across stakeholders to deliver results.
Partnering with leaders across product management, operations, sales enablement, distribution, and data & analytics, this individual will help design and implement critical initiatives spanning go-to-market strategy, operating model evolution, customer and agent experience, and business transformation efforts.

What You'll Do
- Lead the development and ongoing refinement of the business's short- and long-term strategy
- Identify and assess growth opportunities in the context of market trends, competitive dynamics, and enterprise priorities
- Bring a clear, fact-based point of view to strategic discussions and decision-making
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional strategic initiatives tied to key business OKRs and enterprise priorities
- Drive initiatives to improve outcomes such as cross-sell, client acquisition, and producer adoption
- Partner with enterprise stakeholders to define and advance product and go-to-market strategies for Business Solutions offerings
- Translate strategy into actionable plans with measurable outcomes, ensuring alignment from concept through execution
- Own and lead the annual strategic planning process, including prioritization of initiatives and resource alignment
- Monitor and communicate progress against strategic priorities, recommending adjustments as needed
- Develop and deliver materials for senior executive audiences, including SLT and enterprise-level forums
- Influence and align senior stakeholders across functions without direct authority to drive enterprise outcomes
- Serve as a connector across teams to ensure coordinated execution of strategic priorities
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and partners as appropriate
- Own and drive end-to-end delivery of complex, high-visibility initiatives
- Operate with a holistic, business-oriented mindset, balancing strategic thinking with practical execution
- Provide thought leadership in areas such as digital transformation, financial wellness, and growth strategy
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or a related field
- Experience in life insurance, worksite benefits, or broader financial services strongly preferred
- Understanding of insurance distribution models, product economics, and customer segments is a plus
- Outstanding analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Executive presence, sound judgment, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Operate effectively in ambiguous, high-stakes environments
- Influence senior leaders and drive decisions across a matrixed organization
