This is a fully remote, 4-month contract opportunity, with an anticipated start date in December and an expected end date in March 2026.

Works collaboratively with business/group and stakeholders to assess creative design needs, recommend solutions, secure necessary approvals, and create/deliver solutions that effectively support and address communications needs. Sources content and feedback, assesses information and translates thoughts into effective design solutions. Delivers high quality creative design solutions that target audiences can easily access, understand, and action that are in alignment with BMO’s brand standards. 

Design Responsibilities: 

  • Creates cutting-edge videos, banners, job aids, SharePoint designs and other visual graphics for internal projects, while ensuring compliance to the BMO brand standards, language regulations and consistency across multiple mediums. 
  • Demonstrates design expertise, exercising judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve creative problems. 
  • Enhance employee experience by creating easy to digest, visually compelling designs. 
  • Wordsmithing, storyboarding, concept development, video editing and production 
  • Makes recommendations and partners with lines of business to determine effective ways to communicate key information  
  • Remains alert to new industry trends, tools and methods of design and communication  
  • Building effective relationships with employees across the bank, to identify opportunities for design, continuously evolving our digital resources and tools 
  • Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations. 
  • Ability to take technical and complex information and distill it visually to create key messages that make sense for the audience. 
  • Leading improvements to accessibility and usability of key employee resources to promote efficiency 
  • Knowledge sharing and collaborative partnership, sharing best practices to elevate the core competencies of the design team. 
  • Independently oversee end-to-end process for assigned intake projects, including communicating with stakeholders, gathering needs requirements, managing timelines, soliciting feedback, and publishes completed projects to the intranet. 
  • Understanding of the business strategy in alignment with an overarching employee engagement strategy. 
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. 

Qualifications: 

  • Between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in Graphic Design, or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of aptitude, education and experience. 
  • Adaptable and versatile, with the ability to pivot quickly between projects, styles, and priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment. 
  • Proactive and resourceful, demonstrating initiative in solving design challenges and continuously seeking opportunities to improve creative output. 
  • Quick-learning and growth-oriented, eager to absorb new tools, trends, and feedback to evolve their design approach and contribute to team success. 
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with strong collaboration, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to support cross-functional design initiatives and deliver impactful visual solutions. 
  • Marketing and creative writing would be an asset but not required.  
  • Technical Skills:   
  • PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, After Effects, Camtasia, MS Forms, Murf Ai, Premiere Pro, SharePoint Designer, Microsoft Word. 

Salary:

$56,000.00 - $103,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
