Job Summary
The Corporate Development Senior Manager leads investment analyses and recommendations to support strategic growth. They are expected to build deep expertise, strong internal partnerships and external relationship to deliver results through acquisitions, new data center developments, real estate investments, joint ventures and divestitures.
 
Responsibilities 
Inorganic Investment Management (M&A and Divestitures): 
Drive acquisitions of single assets, companies/portfolios and powered-land/site platforms
Engage across the full deal lifecycle—thesis and market mapping; valuation and returns modeling; diligence orchestration (e.g., commercial, operations, real estate, design & construction, finance, integration, HR, IT, power, regulatory, REIT/tax, etc.); structuring/negotiation; close; and pre-close
Support development of each M&A thesis (the "why")
Develop deal valuation frameworks including comparable companies, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow and related investment return valuation models; and pro forma accretion/dilution analyses
Develop operational models and synergy forecasts for targets
Develops transaction timelines
Supports the storyboarding of presentations to drive discussion at the Senior Executive level
Communicates with stakeholders to ensure alignment on active deal pipeline and cross-functional team resourcing
Develop and present business cases to investment committees
Partner with Integration team to ensure effective post-close integration that results in execution of investment theses and investment objectives (i.e., operating performance, financial performance, cultural)
Actively follow and analyze deal activity in areas of interest to Equinix
Direct, coach and mentor more junior team members or internal partners with less M&A experience
 
Organic Investment Management: 
Drive development of business cases for organic investment for densification of current Metro footprints and expansions to new campuses; driving and overseeing financial modeling
Develop and present business cases to investment committees
Project-manage holistic case-development alongside Commercial Finance, Design & Construction, Legal, Sales, Operations and other key functional partners
Evaluate, develop, negotiate and recommend execution of JV opportunities
Develop expertise and judgment related to various geographies and their respective data center ecosystems
Analyze and recommend prioritization of new-build investments and Identify business cases for new development
Support near- and long-term capacity plans and the maintenance of inventory roadmaps
Help develop real estate strategies and support capex forecasts on planned development
Develop asset management optimization strategies, including expansion, contraction, disposition, and reconfiguration of properties
Develop recommendations for improving financial analysis methodology
Support development and evaluate various analyses and support analysis for other business units including M&A, Strategy, Business Development, and others
 
Cross-Functional Coordination
Prepare for, and facilitate, cross-departmental meetings as needed (e.g., due diligence)
Engage with working group team members to identify, catalogue, document, and make recommendations to more senior team members
 
Qualifications 
Bachelor's degree preferred; MBA or CFA a plus
7+ years of relevant business experience, preferably in Investment Banking/Top tier Management consulting/Corporate Finance/Corporate Development at a leading technology company; digital infrastructure experience preferred, particularly including data centers
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Denver Office DEO : 155,000 - 233,000 USD / Annual
United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 186,000 - 280,000 USD / Annual
United States - New York City Office NYO1 : 171,000 - 257,000 USD / Annual
United States - Ashburn Office AEO : 171,000 - 257,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
