Your Team: 

You will be a key contributor and advisor to the senior leadership team, which includes the CEO and CFO (who will be your manager).


Your Role:

As Seesaw’s Corporate Counsel, you will be responsible for providing accurate legal guidance and recommendation on all matters of the company including Trust & Safety compliance, Domestic and International Privacy compliance, and education regulatory compliance.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate legal guidance and recommendations on all matters that affect the company.
  • Support the Company through Trust & Safety incident responses
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of current education regulation (COPPA, FERPA) and legal issues with the ability to provide recommendations on potential needed action
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Domestic and International privacy regulations including GDPR
  • Create, implement and maintain compliance policies to reduce regulatory risk
  • Negotiate, create, review, and execute agreements and contracts necessary for business operations
  • Manage and navigate the Company through litigation associated with general liability risk

Your Requirements:

  • Hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and Bar Admission in good standing. 
  • 7+ years’ legal experience in an edtech corporate environment 
  • Executive presence and ability to represent the company both internally and externally. 
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Compensation & Benefits:

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. Salary is just one part of our total compensation package that includes equity, perks & benefits, and development opportunities at Seesaw. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other Seesawers. It is our expectation that the majority of candidates who are offered roles at Seesaw will land well within our salary ranges based on these factors.

The annual base salary range for this position is: $175,000-$200,000. This is an exempt position.
