About the role

MyHealthTeam is looking for an experienced, meticulous copy editor to join our Content Integrity Team and help uphold the accuracy, clarity, and empathy our readers rely on.

MyHealthTeam creates engaging and useful articles for more than 70 social networks, including three in Spanish, serving people with chronic health conditions.
Because we are committed to improving health outcomes for our readers, every article must be copy edited for medical accuracy and a compassionate tone. As our editorial workflows evolve, we’re looking for someone excited to thoughtfully experiment with AI-assisted editing tools while upholding rigorous editorial standards.


What you'll do

  • Fact-check articles and copy edit manuscripts for tone and accuracy
  • Use (and help develop) proprietary AI-assisted editorial tools to support editing efficiency and quality assurance
  • Adhere to MyHealthTeam house style and Associated Press (AP) Stylebook guidelines 
  • Maintain and refine the house style guide
  • Proofread layouts before articles are published 
  • Ensure all edited content meets MyHealthTeam standards for accuracy, clarity, and compassion, regardless of workflow or tools used

Qualifications

  • Experienced, with at least five years as a professional copy editor 
  • Savvy with the AP Stylebook and house style guides
  • Curious, adaptable, and comfortable experimenting with AI-assisted workflows while maintaining strong editorial judgment 
  • Skilled at fact-checking references and medical information
  • Proficient with editing in Google Docs
  • Willing to develop a working knowledge of 70-plus health conditions
  • Collaborative and comfortable working on a team 
  • Organized and able to track many projects simultaneously


 Skills that aren’t required but definitely a plus

  • Spanish-language fluency
  • Experience using AI tools to enhance efficiency while maintaining editorial quality
  • Experience with American Medical Association (AMA) reference formatting
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as Asana  
  • Background in editing health or medical information
