What You’ll be Doing!

 

As an Controls Developer, you will provide engineering support for our industry-leading products to our most valued customers. From resolving product related issues and addressing design challenges to troubleshooting technical problems, there's nothing you can't solve. Beyond problem-solving, you 'll be collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure our products continue to deliver exception quality and value.

This is role is based in the United States, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and reports directly to the Manager, Controls and Embedded Software who is located in London, Ontario, Canada.

Due to the nature of work, the successful candidate will be required to live in close proximity to either Little Rock, AR.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide top-tier engineering support to customers through troubleshooting, or addressing design challenges
  • Lead the design and implementation of product life cycle & roadmap activities
  • Select and validate suitable sensors, actuators and electronic components for system integration.
  • Identifying and driving product improvements initiatives including developing new algorithms, identifying system or part obsolescence, and cost reduction 
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize technical and project processes using JIRA, Confluence, Word, etc. 
  • Support on-site control system and locomotive commissioning at globally located rail yards

Who are you?:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting products as an Electrical Engineer
  • 2+ years of field service experience 
  • A related degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control or Electronic
  • Proficient in PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Experienced in all phases of the development life cycle
  • Profound understanding of control algorithms and design practices
  • Knowledgeable in industrial communication protocols (Profinet, RS-232, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate to an array of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Passion for learning and keeping up to date with new technologies
  • Ability to 20%-25% travel and work in industrial environments
