Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our North America (US and Canada) accounting and finance operations. Responsibilities:
- Accounting Function Oversight: Take overall responsibility for the accounting function, including leading the monthly close process, consolidations, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information and statements. Drive timely reporting and execution of process improvements.
- Financial Reporting Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Day-to-Day Accounting and Technical Expertise: Direct, oversee, and take responsibility and ownership for accurate and timely day-to-day accounting operations.
- Team Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team to support the company's growth objectives. Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and career development.
- Transformational Projects: Support and lead transformation projects supporting the NA region and team, as well as contribute to company-wide improvement initiatives driven by the global finance team. Integrate operations from acquisitions into the Apryse ecosystem.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee tax filings, primarily payroll and local, sales and use taxes and ensure compliance with applicable rules.
- External Audit Coordination: Coordinate and ensure the timely execution of the annual external audit and statutory audits, working closely with auditors to meet budgetary and reporting requirements, for both entity specific purposes and group-level audit
- Policy Development: In collaboration with the Global Controller, develop and implement accounting policies over financial reporting and accounting, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulatory requirements and incorporated into standard operating procedures.
- Process Improvements: Drive continuous process improvements, including system automation initiatives, to enhance scalability and support the growth of the finance team.
- Other duties: Other duties as assigned by and in support of the Global Controller in support of company objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting/Finance. CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with demonstrated expertise in technical accounting and financial reporting.
- Minimum 5 years in a full -cycle controllership role.
- Public accounting experience/background preferred.
- Experience working with US and Canada based companies.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including software/tech industry-specific accounting guidelines.
- Proven leadership skills in multinational environments, with a focus on team development and process improvement.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
- Proficient in working with ERP (NetSuite preferred) and system improvements and implementations.
- Demonstrated team development skills including staff recruiting, motivating, skill evaluation and development, and training.
- Strong analytical thinking well balanced with attention to details, deadlines, and delivery of commitments.
- The ability to manage multiple high priority tasks in fast paced work environment.
- Strong sense of accountability for accuracy of work and deadlines.
