The Opportunity:

The Contributions Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate calculation and allocation of union benefit contributions tied to payroll. This includes applying correct rates by fund, validating pre-calculated amounts, entering data into the accounting system, and confirming compliance with union agreements and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate has experience with SAG/AFTRA, DGA, WGA, MPI rate groups, and the NBF, as well as general union jurisdictions, and interpreting collective bargaining agreements within the film and television industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Calculate union benefit contributions based on payroll and ensure alignment with union agreements and rate group guidelines

  • Allocate contributions to the appropriate benefit funds accurately and efficiently

  • Perform quality assurance checks on pre-calculated figures to confirm accuracy

  • Enter contribution data into the accounting system and maintain clean, organized records

  • Collaborate with Labor Relations to confirm applicable contribution requirements and rate group details

  • Coordinate with the benefit reporting team to ensure reporting deadlines and formats are met

  • Stay current with union contract changes and benefit plan rules

  • Assist in documenting processes and procedures

  • Maintain well-documented notes in all systems to provide transparency across teams

  • Support audits and internal reviews by ensuring data accuracy and timely retrieval of records

What you’ll have:

  • 3–5 years of experience working with union payroll contributions in the film or entertainment industry

  • Strong understanding of MPI rate groups and benefit fund jurisdictions, and collective bargaining agreement structures

  • Experience calculating and allocating benefit contributions across multiple unions, including SAG/AFTRA, DGA, WGA and the MPI and NBF funds

  • Familiarity with film industry payroll processes and systems

  • High proficiency in Excel and G-Suite

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
