What We Need:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and business-savvy Paralegal to lead our contracting and procurement function. This role will own the end-to-end lifecycle of contracts and vendor relationships — from drafting and negotiation through procurement oversight and ongoing compliance. The Contracts & Procurement Paralegal will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Accounting/Finance, IT and Operations, to ensure contracts and procurement activities align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and financial accountability. This role will report directly to the VP, Controller.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as the primary owner of the contracting and procurement process, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing agreements with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Contracting team, ensuring alignment with established strategic objectives and operational standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement activities, including vendor selection, onboarding, performance monitoring, and contract renewals.
  • Partner with Accounting/Finance to ensure alignment on the procurement process including purchase orders, budgets, invoices, and payment schedules.
  • Maintain the contract management system, ensuring all agreements are current, accessible, and compliant with internal policies and applicable laws.
  • Develop and implement standardized contracting and procurement procedures, templates, and playbooks to streamline operations and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct due diligence on vendors and ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal requirements.
  • Track contract deadlines, renewals, and obligations to ensure timely execution and prevent service disruptions.
  • Provide guidance to business stakeholders on procurement policies, contract terms, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare regular reports on contracting and procurement activities, vendor performance, and compliance trends for leadership review.

What You Have:

At Synapse Health we’ve intentionally built a culture of kindness, collaboration and creativity, and we consider those qualities to be table stakes for any new team member. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certification or equivalent experience in contract management, procurement, or vendor management
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in paralegal, contracts management, or procurement/vendor management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, contract drafting, and negotiation best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts, deadlines, and vendors simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify risks, gaps, or inconsistencies in contracts.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with contract management systems such as Ironclad.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams with a focus on operational excellence.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Proven ability to drive operational improvements using data-driven insights.
  • Experience in contract risk mitigation and vendor compliance strategies.
  • A history of fostering a high-performance culture within teams.

What Sets Us Apart:

  • Professional growth opportunities with compelling career paths
  • Healthy work-life balance culture with paid time off (PTO)
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance for full-time team members
  • 401K savings plan with employer contribution match
