The Supplier Contract Manager plays an important role within NI Strategic Sourcing (NISS), serving as the primary legal process and contract point of contact for the Master Category team. This position supports the FAB/ATP team in legal topics and contract negotiations by analyzing needs, proposing innovative ideas aligned with business requirements, and ensuring contractual activities are traceable, transparent, and compliant with Nokia policies and regulations. The Contract Manager drives the implementation of activities, templates, processes, and legal specific requirements to optimize category management skill sets.  The Contract Manager orchestrates cooperation between NISS and NI Legal & Compliance (L&C).

Responsibilities

Contract Management & Legal Support: 

  • Support NI Strategic Sourcing FAB/ATP Master Category in legal topics and contract negotiations.
  • Analyze needs and propose straightforward and innovative ideas in line with business requirements.
  • Implement and maintain the contractual Mode of Operation for FAB/ATP in alignment with other Contract Managers in the NISS team, ensuring traceability, transparency, and compliance with Nokia policies and regulations.
  • Provide close collaboration with the category team, supporting legal and contracting activities (drafting/set-up, negotiations, escalations, signatures, storing, and archiving) in cooperation with NI Sourcing Operations and L&C.
  • Support the supplier manager in the claim management process.
  • Support in Power of Attorney questions.
  • Monitor contract coverage targets for the FAB/ATP Master Category.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, compliance, SOX, and legal audit requirements.
  • Conduct legal process and contract risk assessments.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in contracts.
  • Implement templates, processes, and legal specific requirements to optimize category management skill sets.
  • Drive innovation in the legal landscape, with other Contract Managers including CLM tool assessment and enhancement
  • Share best practices.

Qualifications

This role requires regular collaboration with teams operating in US time zones, including occasional availability during US business hours.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience supporting sourcing managers, Legal, or Procurement in supplier contract management.
  • Strong legal knowledge and understanding with expertise in process and contract management, contract drafting, negotiation, and risk mitigation.
  • Effective communicator with full command of English and ability to cross-boundary collaboration.
  • Strong influencing, assertiveness, and decision-making abilities.
