Who are we?
The Motley Fool is a purpose-driven financial services company on a mission to make the world smarter, happier, and richer. For 30 years we’ve been helping people make better investment decisions through transparency, education, and Foolish fun. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team that values high-quality work, curiosity, and initiative. We care deeply about what we do, and we’re driven by the impact our work has on real people’s financial futures.
What would you do in this role?
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Recruiter to join our small-but-mighty recruiting team and help us support hiring at all levels of the business. We need someone who can bring strong technical recruiting chops, a team-first mindset, and the ability to dive in right away. We are looking for someone who loves the whole process of searching for and finding great hires.
You’ll work directly with hiring managers and cross-functional partners to drive full-cycle recruiting efforts, from sourcing and interviewing to offer negotiation and close. You’ll also collaborate closely with our tight-knit Recruiting team, sharing ideas, problem-solving together, and partnering on roles/initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and who brings a consultative, proactive approach to hiring.
No two days look exactly the same, but here’s what you’ll be focused on:
- Owning and managing full-cycle recruiting for a subset of technical roles
- Building strong partnerships with hiring managers to deeply understand team needs and create effective search strategies
- Sourcing and engaging passive candidates using tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, forums, and in-house proprietary tools
- Guiding candidates and hiring teams through a thoughtful, structured, and inclusive interview process
- Keeping our Greenhouse pipeline clean, organized, and up to date so we can track progress and spot opportunities
- Working hand-in-hand with Recruiters to share insights, support shared goals, and elevate the overall candidate experience
- Identifying opportunities and experimenting with AI-driven tools and tech, including AI-assisted candidate vetting and code review platforms, to streamline and enhance our hiring processes
- Educate and empower our recruiting team by sharing knowledge and training on the latest AI and technical evaluation tools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in technical recruiting skills
- Championing The Motley Fool’s mission and values throughout the candidate journey
What do you need to apply?
- 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- A strong track record of hiring across a wide range of technical functions- including engineering, data, infrastructure, and technical leadership
- Understanding of how to assess technical skill sets and confidently evaluate candidate alignment
- A strong grasp of technical concepts- you don’t need to code, but you should know the difference between React and React Native, and feel comfortable holding your own in a chat with a developer
- Experience acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to hiring managers and leadership
- The ability to step into a fast-moving environment and quickly earn trust- you're confident owning processes, communicating transparently, and making smart decisions with minimal hand-holding
- Clear, confident, and kind communication skills- with both candidates and internal teams
- Ability to adapt quickly, work autonomously, and thrive in a remote-first, collaborative team culture
- A proactive and resourceful approach, with excitement to contribute ideas and drive improvements
- Knowledge of Greenhouse (or similar ATS platforms) is a plus
We anticipate this being a 5 month contract.
