We are seeking a skilled and engaging Content Writer & Strategist to work directly with a nonprofit-focused finance and accounting firm. This role will involve crafting compelling content that bridges the gap between financial concepts and accessible storytelling. The ideal candidate will be able to translate technical financial and accounting topics into engaging, easy-to-understand articles and LinkedIn posts.
Scope and Duration:
10 hours per week commitment (minimum) with flexibility for additional hours.
6 month commitment with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, draft, and develop high-quality blog articles, LinkedIn posts, and thought leadership content focused on nonprofit finance, accounting, and software implementation in collaboration with company leadership.
  • Work closely with company leadership to refine content ideas, ensuring alignment with brand voice and company goals.
  • Break down complex financial concepts into digestible and engaging narratives.
  • Repurpose long-form content into smaller, social-friendly formats (LinkedIn posts, short-form blogs).
  • Provide strategic input on content themes, article series, and overall messaging to ensure consistency across multiple platforms.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a structured content distribution schedule.
  • Upload and schedule content distribution using platforms like Buffer or similar.
  • Conduct interviews with internal stakeholders to create compelling case studies, white papers, and eBooks when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in writing for finance, accounting, or nonprofit sectors (preferred).
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging, and actionable content.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit finance, funding structures, and financial software such as Sage Intacct (a plus but not required).
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, iterative content development process.
  • Ability to manage multiple content projects with structured timelines.
  • Proficiency in content distribution tools such as Buffer or Hootsuite (a plus).

  • Engaging and creative writing style with the ability to make finance "fun."
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives that highlight the value proposition of financial services.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for occasional brainstorming and collaboration calls.
