Position OverviewYahoo is seeking a Content Strategist to support our growing affiliate commerce and monetization programs by owning the strategy, development, and optimization of performance-driven content used across paid media channels.
This role will focus on creating and guiding content specifically designed to support paid acquisition efforts—including offer positioning, comparison content, advertorial-style pages, and partner-specific messaging. The Content Strategist will ensure paid teams are equipped with high-converting content frameworks, clear testing angles, and consistent messaging across partners and programs.
The Content Strategist will act as a strategic partner to Paid Media, CRO, and Commerce teams by identifying content opportunities, overseeing freelance writers, conducting competitive research, and continuously improving the quality and effectiveness of content used in paid traffic environments.
What You’ll DoOwn the content strategy for affiliate commerce programs, with a primary focus on content used to support paid media acquisition
Develop content frameworks for advertorials, comparisons, partner pages, and offer-driven landing experiences
Conduct competitive research to identify winning angles, messaging patterns, offers, and positioning used by other affiliate and performance advertisers
Oversee freelance writers, including briefing, assignment management, editing, and quality assurance
Create detailed content briefs that translate paid media goals into clear messaging direction and conversion-focused structure
Partner closely with Paid Media Managers to align content strategy with traffic sources, audiences, and testing roadmaps
Support paid testing initiatives by generating new content angles, value propositions, and offer variations
Monitor performance feedback from paid and CRO teams to inform future content direction and iteration
Maintain content calendars and manage delivery timelines across multiple affiliate partners and campaigns
Collaborate cross-functionally with CRO, Analytics, and Commerce teams to improve content performance and scalability
5+ years of experience in affiliate marketing, performance marketing content, or conversion-focused digital content roles
Strong understanding of content built for paid traffic environments (e.g., advertorials, comparison pages, offer pages)
Experience managing freelance writers or external content vendors
Ability to think in terms of conversion drivers, user objections, value propositions, and messaging hierarchy
Comfort working with performance data and feedback loops to inform content direction
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple partners, offers, and content workstreams simultaneously
Excellent written communication skills and a strong eye for persuasive, structured content
Experience supporting affiliate or partner-based monetization models
Familiarity with paid media funnels and how content impacts performance across the user journey
Experience collaborating with CRO or landing page optimization teams
Understanding of testing frameworks related to messaging, offers, and page structure
Exposure to analytics platforms used to evaluate paid traffic performance

The compensation for this position ranges from $72,750.00 - $151,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
