About the role

At Thatch, we’re building a new way for modern businesses to offer great health benefits. We’re taking a fresh approach with backing from some of the world’s top investors (Index, a16z, Google Ventures, General Catalyst) and a team of early builders from Stripe, Rippling, Ramp, Brex, and Shopify.

We’re seeking an experienced Content Manager with deep expertise in healthcare marketing — particularly in educating employers, brokers, and employees on health insurance and ICHRA. You’ll establish a best-in-class content strategy spanning everything from in-depth thought leadership pieces and SEO-driven articles to interactive experiences and multimedia storytelling. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of editorial excellence, a demonstrated ability to produce (and guide the production of) high-quality, engaging content, and a willingness to embrace new technologies (like AI) to supercharge our content operations without sacrificing authenticity.

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional partners — including Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, Sales, and Policy — to ensure content is a core growth lever for our go-to-market strategy. You’ll also serve as our in-house expert for the latest healthcare industry trends, conferences, and regulatory updates, translating that knowledge into authoritative, educational, and compelling content that resonates with our audience. This is a unique opportunity to shape our brand narrative and build the inbound engine that fuels sustainable, long-term success.

  • Content marketing strategy: Own and evolve Thatch’s end-to-end content plan, including editorial calendars, campaign themes, and channel selection (blog, video, social, podcasts, etc.). Ensure the content roadmap is strategically aligned with Thatch’s broader marketing and revenue goals.
  • Content craft: Create, curate, and champion content that educates, informs, and delights employers, brokers, and employees on healthcare benefits — especially ICHRA — and Thatch’s brand voice and mission.
  • Content quality: Ensure clarity, consistency, and factual accuracy by reviewing and optimizing all customer-facing content written by our team.
  • Organic growth: Drive and accelerate our organic inbound growth through a highly optimized content marketing engine. Employ advanced SEO and AI content strategy, keyword research, and data analysis to attract and convert high-intent traffic.
  • In-house expert: Stay current on the latest healthcare news, industry conferences, regulatory changes, and trends in employee benefits. Serve as Thatch’s go-to expert on ICHRA and health insurance topics, ensuring credibility and authority in all content.
  • External partners: Manage external writers, agencies, and freelancers as needed, maintaining consistent editorial standards.
  • Cross-functional work: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a scalable and robust content marketing engine across all stages of our customer journey.
Background we're looking for
  • 5+ years of content marketing experience, 2+ years of experience doing B2B content, reaching business audiences, with a preference towards the SMB and Mid-Market segments.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce (and guide the production of) high-quality, engaging content that drives measurable business impact.
  • Strong editorial background, ideally within the healthcare or benefits industry, with a focus on employer-sponsored health insurance.
  • Deep understanding of content distribution channels, SEO best practices, and keyword optimization.
  • Comfortable interpreting data to inform content direction, spot trends, and generate insights that guide strategic decision-making.
  • Have experience scaling content teams or managing freelancers, contractors, and subject-matter experts.
  • Experience with content management systems like Contentful and project management tools like Linear.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in presenting results to an executive team.
  • A low ego, deep curiosity, an appetite to build, and good judgment in making hard trade-offs with limited resources.
Experience we’d be particularly excited about
  • Previous experience at a fast-growing startup.
  • Experience leveraging AI for content enhancement and personalization.
  • Knowledge of any of the following services: Web and product analytics (GA4, Mixpanel), CSM (Contentful), SEO tooling (Ahrefs), etc
What to expect

We interview rigorously based on integrity, talent, and drive; the trust we display in our teammates from day 1 is a reflection of the confidence we have in this process. We aim to evaluate the things you’ll be doing every day as best we can, and we move quickly. We will conduct the following interviews:

  • 30 minute Zoom meeting to talk about Thatch, your background, and answer any questions about the role.
  • 30-45 minute Zoom meeting to hear more about your experience and how you'd approach working in the role.
  • Three 30 minute zooms with additional Thatch teammates to access your skill sets.
  • 30 minute Zoom meeting with our founders to discuss your approach to culture and our operating principles.
  • Final 30 minute call to answer any outstanding questions.

Estimated Compensation Range

$148,000$176,000 USD
