Work Mode: 100% Remote, every other Friday off
At Loka, the work we do has cut billions in food waste, helped children around the world learn to read, and supported everything from barbershop apps to cancer research. Since 2023 alone, we've helped launch more than 500 AI projects for bold startups and household brands. We're the AWS Innovation Partner of the Year, and we've built an award-winning marketing engine that's helping move the services industry forward.
All of this, and we still enjoy every other Friday off of work (yes, really).
That's the broad pitch. Now let's talk about you.
I'm the CMO and I'm looking for a Senior Content & Communications Lead who is an exceptional writer, sharp thinker, and obsessive about clarity. This is a hands-on senior IC role. You'll own our content end-to-end — long-form, short-form, sales enablement copy, web, email, and narrative assets that shape how Loka is perceived by AWS sellers, buyers, and the market.
You'll partner closely with me at first, then within 6 months be trusted to ship externally without oversight, make confident editorial calls, and raise the quality of every piece of communication that goes out under Loka's name.
This is not a role for someone who wants to wait to be told what to write for a year. I'm looking for someone who deeply understands what we do, who we serve, and how we win — and turns that understanding into sharp, accurate, audience-ready writing. Someone who takes a vague brief and comes back with a structured plan. Someone who can sit on a call with an engineer, a client, or an AWS AM and translate what they heard into content that actually lands.
Background in engineering, cloud, software, services, or B2B tech is essential. Loka is a full-stack software consultancy — we build production AI, agentic systems, cloud migrations, and data platforms for regulated industries. The best version of this role is filled by someone who already speaks the language: a former engineer who moved into content, a writer who has spent years at a cloud/AI/SaaS company, an editor who covered enterprise tech, or someone who grew up in B2B services. Engineering background is the strongest plus. If you've only written about consumer brands or lifestyle topics, this isn't the right fit.
I'm looking for someone with the rigor to translate technical substance into content that lands. You ask sharp questions. You explain your choices. You care about audience and objective as much as craft. You should also be deeply fluent in how content and marketing are evolving. You can talk clearly about how you're using AI and agents to scale your work, where those tools create leverage, and where human judgment still matters most. We move fast at Loka, but we do it sustainably. We care about long-term growth in our team and business, not short-term burnout.
If you're nodding along enthusiastically, I'd love to meet you.
What You'll DoOriginal Content & External Communications- Own and produce high-impact external content — case studies, web pages, landing copy, sales emails, offers, social posts, thought leadership, campaign narratives
- Translate Loka's technical wins (GenAI, agentic systems, cloud migrations, regulated-industry deployments) into sharp, accurate, audience-ready writing that lands with AWS sellers and buyers
- Develop and maintain the working understanding of Loka's offerings, audiences, and positioning needed to write independently without heavy SME hand-holding
- Sit on calls with engineers, SMEs, AWS partners, and clients — and turn what you heard into content that's accurate, persuasive, and on-brand
- Shape Loka's editorial and content strategy within your domain — what we're saying, to whom, through what, and why now
- Bring point of view to content planning: propose pieces, angles, and campaigns based on Loka's priorities (AWS co-sell, regulated industries, production AI work) rather than waiting for assignments
- Defend editorial choices with clear reasoning rooted in audience and objective
- Hold the Loka brand and voice across every format and channel
- Self-edit before handoff. Don't hand over work you can't defend as ready to ship
- Produce content that captures the "so what" for AWS sellers and buyers, not just surface-level summaries
- Use Claude and other AI tools meaningfully to accelerate drafting, research, editing, and repurposing
- Apply judgment about what should be automated, what should be assisted, and what still needs a human eye and brain
- 5+ years of experience in content, communications, editorial, or marketing writing roles — ideally at a services, consulting, or B2B technology company
- A background in at least one of: engineering, cloud, software, services, or B2B tech. This could be a former engineer or developer who moved into content, a writer with years of experience at a cloud / AI / SaaS / enterprise software company, a journalist who covered enterprise tech, or someone who grew up in a B2B services environment. Engineering background is the strongest plus.
- Exceptional writing skills across formats: long-form, short-form, email, sales assets
- Demonstrated ability to write credibly about technical topics — AI, cloud, data, software — for both technical and business audiences
- Strong editorial judgment: taste, audience calibration, and a clear sense of when something is ready to ship
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple fast-moving priorities
- Deep curiosity about AI-enabled content workflows and good judgment about their limitations
- Based in the United States with eligibility to work in the US
- 5/4 schedule with every other Friday off — 26 extra days off a year
- 100% remote work
- Premium health insurance
- 401(k) matching
- Short- and long-term disability coverage
- Paid sick days and local holidays
- Premium mental health subscriptions
- Continuous Learning Support
- And more
If you're a writer with strong judgment, clear editorial instincts, and the curiosity to help a team do better work that actually matters, apply now.
