About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Emerging Risks & Initiatives Lead (Lead Business Accountability Specialist) in Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) BSA AML Transformation (BAT) team, part of the CSBB Chief Administrative Office.
In this role you will be responsible for BSA/AML risk coverage across CSBB to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures associated with their activities and operations. The group is responsible for complex business-specific Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) processes and activities. This position sits within the CSBB BSA/AML transformation team and supports the CSBB transaction and product risk activities, targeted risk assessments, emerging risks and applicable reporting elements tied to BSA/AML activities, risks and controls.
This role will work with CSBB, Product, Operations, Control, Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM), and the Chief Risk Office on complex financial crimes related programs, initiatives and issues. The position may lead projects/virtual teams and may mentor but does not manage other team members.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead BSA/AML initiatives related to product risk, transaction risk or emerging risks identification (internal and external) to enhance the CSBB BSA/AML Transformation Program
  • Lead complex initiatives within CSBB BSA/AML Transformation to drive execution and ensure risks and associated controls are properly implemented to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, enterprise policy requirements for that support the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Global Sanctions
  • Engage in major initiatives across CSBB and the enterprise acting as a subject matter expert in financial crimes with a focus on transactions and products
  • Collaborate with line of business teams, Control, Operations, IRM and Legal to facilitate execution, resolve issues and maintain transparency across key stakeholders
  • Act as an escalation point for complex projects and make recommendations for resolution
  • Analyze complex data to drive solutions
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise for development and delivery of training
  • Make decisions and recommendations in complex situations requiring understanding of applicable regulations, policies and procedures
  • Work cross-functionally with Financial Crimes partners to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive strategic objectives and assist in developing corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • Works independently, leads projects and mentors but does not manage other employees
  • Support regulatory exams, internal audits, or Independent Risk Management reviews as required
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of financial crimes experience in an oversight, execution, control, product, or equivalent role that requires strong understanding of financial crimes policies
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in control, compliance, fraud, risk management, audit, or a related job function
  • Applicable Financial Crimes and risk related industry certifications, such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), etc.
  • Risk and control assessment experience
  • Experience with leading Issue Management activities including root cause analysis and corrective action planning and monitoring
  • Experience in understanding and documenting unfamiliar processes to identify key risks, identify and evaluate controls and provide consulting to remediate control deficiencies
  • Strong understanding of financial crimes policies, procedures, and programs
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual team environment where other team members, team management, and business partners are not local
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
