SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, accomplishing business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans; managing staff. It is the responsibility of the Consumer Bank Market Manager to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the direction, administration, and operations of a group or teams within a geographic area/market; provides necessary guidance and support to achieve performance targets and objectives
Primary focus on day-to-day operational execution, although role will also include contributing to strategic planning within area of expertise, 40% strategic, 40% tactical, and 20% transactional
Concurrently, manage a branch and meet all branch management responsibilities
Responsible for developing short- and long-term strategic planning goals for assigned areas or teams.
Manages the branch managers to meet branch objectives
Participates in activities for generating new business such as sales calls and special events
May work with third parties to promote new business
May have personal production responsibilities
Ensure that the Bank’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with
Aid other employees by liaising with them through healthy and positive interactions.
Be involved in performing marketing endeavors/efforts
Continuously update skills by participating in professional training
Seek opportunities to improve skills through cross-training offered by the Bank
Is knowledgeable of financial services offered by the bank.
Knows and ensures compliance to all banking regulations to include Regulation CC and Bank Secrecy Act.
Presents a neat and professional personal appearance and orderly work area.
Develops and maintains a sales culture environment.
Maintains a strong understanding of customer facing technology with the ability to discuss with and enroll customers in self-service options

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements
Education: College degree or related field experience
Experience: Seven years of prior experience in bank or in a sales capacity, at least three years of experience in a branch or team leader equivalent role
Knowledge: Proficient with general office machines and programs to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software that might be utilized in the department. Must possess English language skills to write and speak clearly, and effectively with coworkers and customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be willing to travel for meetings and classes, must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports and identify customers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is most likely in a private office. The position is located inside a cooled and heated facility with ability to go to a break room or rest room during breaks.
TRAVEL
This position does require travel to branches within the market.
