The Strategy Consultant analyzes healthcare data, prepares strategic plans, participates in client engagements, and delivers presentations with recommendations.
The Strategy Consultant is responsible for accurate analysis of healthcare data utilized in the development of strategic plans - including collecting, evaluating, and preparation of market, operational, quality and financial data. This position will participate in client engagements in support of the project team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient use of healthcare data and analytical tools and to develop logical approaches/conclusions to analysis.
- Prepares deliverables aligned to project goals and objectives, utilizes team resources to meet agreed upon project completion, and ensures high performance service to clients.
- Applies specialized knowledge and skills to address client issues and shares knowledge with others.
- Participates in key strategic interviews with clients and summarizes findings effectively.
- Clearly and concisely conveys more complex messages to the team and to the client.
- Drafts sound and well-structured recommendations with guidance to include the ability to design deliverables to fit the engagement contract and the client's needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience using healthcare data (inpatient, outpatient, physician, post-acute, etc.) sourced from an analytical platform (e.g. IBM Watson Health, Sg2) or similar.
- Ability to identify and design creative business solutions.
- Understanding of basic project management principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Experience using internet for best practice research.
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in converting data into actionable information.
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint computer skills. Database applications, mapping or other specialized software applications desirable.
WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 or more years consulting experience or 3 or more years relevant industry experience preferred.
- Strategic planning experience a plus.
- BA/BS required, Master’s degree preferred. Master’s degree in lieu of work experience is acceptable
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive travel required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Conditions typically associated with an office environment. While performing the essential duties and responsibilities, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. May be frequently required to sit, stand or walk. Moderate to prolonged reading, typing, and computer work. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity that may include lifting up to 50 pounds. Subject to exposure to all environmental hazards associated with healthcare and office work.
