As a Consultant, Business Consulting you’ll be part of the team that leads, organizes, develops and delivers business framework to support the growth of Nationwide Financial Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) segment, including documenting our competitive intelligence, pre-sale and point of sale opportunity process. You will partner with others across PRT and internal Nationwide functions to support the PRT business.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Completes regular research on PRT market activity, broker and competitor actions, shifts due to changing economic/regulatory/societal conditions. Documents and summarizes key findings and implications for PRT and Corporate Solutions leadership to facilitate any pivots in strategy or approach.
- Strategy Development – Assist with developing internal partnership strategies and specific external target partners based on the industry vertical opportunity.
- Internal Constituent Management - Partner with marketing, product, and distribution teams across Nationwide to assist staff to develop and expand the programs, deepen relationships and optimize growth. Collaborate with staff, internal and external partners to define the approach and strategy for achieving program expectations.
- Business Case Development: Work in an agile environment with a cross functional team to help develop partnership business cases and strategic reporting functions and platforms. This will include multi-year strategic and robust financial proforma outlining the value and investment to build and scale the business.
- Test/Learn in Market: Assists in test & learns with potential partners through rapid-cycle pilots in partnership with Legal, IT, Finance, Product and other internal partners.
- Compliance & Legal: Engage with Legal & Compliance partners to help define, implement, and maintain contractual solutions. Ensure governance models formed by the business comply with external and internal framework.
- Assists in the development of PRT collateral, internal business updates and other documentation required for the success of the business.
May performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Serves as process management contributor and consultant between business customers and systems area for development and implementation of business processes and procedures. Responsible for communicating to customers, management and external sources.

As a team member, participates in analysis and design of organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, governance, staffing and sourcing to support business goals, strategies and process architecture. Provides significant contribution in executing business unit level change.

Conducts and leads training of customers on business, technological, societal and environmental trends to support strategies for improving business performance.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director. This is an individual contributor role and does not have direct reports; may have opportunity to lead projects or teams.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information, business, mathematics or related field desired. Graduate studies are preferred.
Experience: Eight plus years of dynamic experience in planning, designing and implementing company-wide business transformation initiatives. Extensive experience in functional, process, information and data modeling, data management and warehousing and applications integration. In-depth experience with process redesign methods and tools. Three years of experience in project management is preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of standards, methodologies and frameworks, business process management and technology. Sound knowledge of a variety of tools, concepts and techniques. Understanding of new technologies and developments in the technology industry. Detailed knowledge of the system development life cycle. Knowledge of project management concepts and techniques are required. Thorough knowledge of facilitation, performance management, organizational design and managing organization change. Ability to lead large or sophisticated projects. Effective communication skills and ability to deal with ambiguity.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.
The national salary range for Consultant, Business Consulting : $86,000.00-$178,000.00
The expected starting salary range for Consultant, Business Consulting : $95,000.00 - $143,000.00
