The Constructability Associate will assist the Constructability Manager in optimizing project execution strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction processes, exceptional problem-solving skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to various roles within the organization. This position plays a critical role in supporting budgeting, scheduling, constructability reviews, and temporary site plans.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED; further education in construction management or related field preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of relevant field experience in construction, with a strong understanding of project execution and constructability.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a willingness to think creatively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in construction software and modeling tools is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
Travel: Willingness to travel to job sites (20-50% of the time).
Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the early identification of constructability options to enhance project modeling and execution strategies.
- Supports the Constructability Manager in managing project strategy during model content population.
- Helps drive the utilization of standard products, assemblies, and build packages.
- Collaborates with vendors and manufacturers to coordinate project needs and maintain a library of resources.
- Contributes to the development of project logistics plans aligned with work package schedules and execution methods.
- Facilitates communication and coordination with site representatives and the operations team to support project deliveries.
- Gathers and documents feedback from site installation crews regarding sequence, duration, logistics, and work package content.
- Assists in collecting field data related to the installation of manufactured solutions and works collaboratively with the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team.
- Works closely with Preconstruction Managers, Project Managers, and site superintendents to ensure alignment of schedules and resources.
- Provides mentoring and support for VDC, Preconstruction Managers, and superintendents, particularly in electrical systems.
- Contributes to the coordination and creation of project deliverables in collaboration with the Preconstruction team and VDC.
- Helps manage the established QA/QC processes for VDC documentation, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborates with field superintendents and project managers to ensure documentation aligns with operational intent.
- Assists in coordinating timely deliveries with Excellerate and communicate manufacturing lead times to the construction team.
- Travels to job sites as needed to gather feedback, assist in evaluations, and implement lessons learned from previous projects.
- Participates in hiring referrals and mentoring programs as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
