Sunnyside Golf & Country Club Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary
The Communications & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing clear, consistent, and engaging communications that strengthen relationships with existing members, attract prospective members, and promote the overall brand and experience of Sunnyside Golf & Country Club. This role serves as the primary voice of the club across all communication and marketing channels, ensuring messaging aligns with the club’s culture, values, and strategic goals.
This position is heavily focused on member-facing communications, while also supporting membership growth, event promotion, and brand visibility within the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
Member Communications (Primary Focus)
● Serve as the primary point of contact for all member communications
● Create, schedule, and distribute regular member communications including emails, newsletters, announcements, and updates
● Work closely with department heads (Golf, Food & Beverage, Events, Grounds, Administration) to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent messaging
● Maintain a professional, welcoming, and clear tone across all member-facing materials
● Manage and update club communication calendars to ensure members are informed without being overwhelmed
Marketing & Brand Management
● Promote the club’s amenities, events, dining offerings, and overall member experience
● Develop and execute marketing campaigns aimed at both current and prospective members
● Ensure all marketing materials align with the club’s brand standards, voice, and visual identity
● Assist in shaping and maintaining a modern, polished image of the club while respecting its traditions
Membership Marketing & Growth Support
● Support membership recruitment and retention efforts through targeted marketing initiatives
● Create promotional materials for membership opportunities, events, and special programs
● Assist with onboarding communications for new members to ensure a strong first impression
● Collaborate with the General Manager on messaging related to membership categories, benefits, and initiatives
Digital & Social Media Management
● Manage and maintain the club’s website content, ensuring information is current and accurate
● Manage social media platforms, creating engaging content that highlights club life, events, and amenities
● Monitor engagement and adjust strategies to improve reach and effectiveness
● Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all digital platforms
Event Promotion & Support
● Promote club events through coordinated communication and marketing efforts
● Design and distribute event flyers, digital graphics, and promotional content
● Work closely with the Events team to ensure strong attendance and clear communication
Qualifications & Skills
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Experience in marketing, communications, hospitality, or a related field preferred
● Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
● Comfortable working collaboratively across departments
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
● Familiarity with email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and basic graphic design software (e.g., Canva)
● Understanding of private club culture or hospitality environments preferred
