Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Communications and Marketing Consultant to join our team and serve as a local extension for a charter school network client in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have +5 years of experience and a strong background in marketing, social media, and digital marketing. This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively utilize artificial intelligence to enhance creativity, efficiency, and impact while maintaining human-centered storytelling. You will report directly to Catharine Montgomery, Founder and CEO of Better Together Agency, with autonomy determined by your demonstrated skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns (enrollment, talent acquisition, brand awareness).

  • Develop collateral: one-pagers, videos, posters, digital assets.

  • Provide creative direction for multimedia projects.

  • Manage social media strategy and content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok (up to 15 posts/month).

  • Develop individual social media strategies for executive team.

  • Execute community outreach strategies to build trust with families and educators.

  • Collaborate with Better Together Agency team and client staff on weekly calls and quarterly strategy sessions.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Must be a Denver, Colorado resident with ability to meet client in person weekly.

  • 5+ years in strategic communications and marketing.

  • Proven experience with integrated campaigns across paid, earned, organic, and social/digital media.

  • Expertise in social media strategy for Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

  • Creative direction experience.

  • Strong media relations and crisis communications background.

  • Excellent storytelling and writing skills.

  • Comfort and enthusiasm working in an AI-forward environment that uses technology to enhance human creativity.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education sector experience (charter schools, education nonprofits, public schools).

  • Knowledge of Denver's education landscape and charter school models.

  • Passion for social impact and education equity.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn:

  • Project Management: Notion

  • Social Media: Hootsuite, Buffer.

  • Email Marketing: MailChimp, Constant Contact.

  • Design: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite.

  • CMS: WordPress.

  • AI Tools: Strong interest in learning and using AI tools for productivity and content creation.

  • Collaboration: Slack, Google Workspace.
