BioCatch is looking for a writer. If you’ve never worked in the fraud space, cybersecurity, or the financial services industry, that’s fine. You’ll learn our messaging and subject matter. But writing and editing chops are absolutely essential for this position.

The ideal candidate for this role is a storytelling Swiss Army Knife, comfortable creating engaging content for any medium with flawless punctuation and grammar that perfectly aligns with our internal style guide. This person should be flexible and excited to tackle the day's communications/brand/content triage. This is not a position for someone looking to be a cog in a machine endlessly performing the same three tasks.

We are a lean and nimble team tasked with producing a ton of on-brand content. There is a lot of opportunity here to take ownership of projects and processes and exercise one’s creativity. We also need someone who can ask a minimal number of questions and complete a task as requested and on time. We need someone who is dynamic, hungry, and willing to pivot to the needs of the day. We’re looking for both in-the-trenches skills and up-in-the-clouds ideas.

 Primary responsibilities:

  • The editing and writing of blogs, reports, white papers, video scripts and on-screen text, infographics, landing pages, news releases, webinar registration pages, social posts, video scripts, and copy for various other internal- and external-facing pieces of company literature.
  • Enforcement of brand voice and style across all company content.
  • Serving as a proxy when our director of marketing comms is unable to meet with or respond to reps from our PR agencies around the world.
  • Working with our internal subject matter experts to help them formulate first-person pieces of content and deliver them on schedule.
  • Assisting in project, stakeholder, and vendor management.
  • Researching and fact-checking content from both internal and third-party sources to arm our team and those on other teams with the info and/or content they need.
  • Monitoring news stories worldwide that speak to who we are and what we do.
  • Constantly thinking about and evaluating how to better tell a story to captivate and engage its target audience.
  • Extracting narratives from a dataset and telling numbers-stories in words is a big part of this role.

Requirements

  • Writing and editing skills are non-negotiable on this list.
  • Mastery of A.P. Style.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Project and time management: Able to meet all deadlines.
  • Experience in a journalism environment is a plus.
  • Storytelling skills.
  • Existing familiarity with (or the ability and willingness to quickly learn) various digital platforms: content management, social media, etc.
  • Existing familiarity with (and a willingness to quickly learn) various AI tools to assist in content creation, fact-checking, editing, and more.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a complex and dynamic matrixed environment and manage projects independently.
  • Research and reporting skills.
  • Video, web, and graphic design skills would be an advantage.
  • Problem-solving and teamwork
  • Flexible working schedule.
  • Communications skills
  • Data analysis skills would be a bonus.
