About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

Zipline is transforming the way the world moves. As the world's largest autonomous delivery system, we are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents and supports communities with deliveries of blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Now we're bringing that mission to Houston, and we're building the commercial systems, merchant relationships, and operating rhythms needed to grow our delivery network from the ground up.

We're looking for a highly organized, resourceful, and action-oriented Commercial Ops Project Manager to help our Houston commercial team operate at its best.

This role has three standing responsibilities: run the Houston commercial operating cadence, coordinate clean handoffs from signed merchant through launch, and manage priority projects assigned by commercial leadership. You'll support Field Sales and Partner Success while directly owning the tools, trackers, meetings, and follow-up that connect the teams.

The recurring baseline includes maintaining CRM and onboarding data, preparing weekly pipeline and launch-readiness updates, tracking action items and blockers, and coordinating merchant events or field activities. Remaining capacity will shift to time-bound projects for commercial leadership.

Field Sales remains accountable for prospecting and closing new merchants. Partner Success remains accountable for the ongoing partner relationship. This role is accountable for the operating system between them: data accuracy, handoffs, project plans, stakeholder coordination, and execution follow-through.

The best person for this role is a strong operator who is comfortable switching between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

They are naturally curious, calm under pressure, and energized by variety. They do not wait for perfect instructions—they ask the right questions, create a practical plan, and keep the work moving.

They are just as willing to clean up a CRM report or chase down a missing detail as they are to lead a cross-functional initiative. They build trust through sound judgment, clear communication, and consistent follow-through.

At Zipline, you'll help build the commercial foundation for an entirely new category of delivery.

You'll join a company operating at global scale while helping shape how we acquire, launch, and support merchant partners here in Houston.

If you're energized by solving hard problems, supporting high-performing teams, and turning ambitious ideas into reliable execution, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As a successful Commercial Ops Specialist, you will:

  • Ensure every signed merchant has a clear internal owner, next step, and visible path from agreement through activation.
  • Provide commercial leadership with concise updates on progress, risks, decisions needed, and upcoming milestones.
  • Deliver assigned special projects with a defined scope, timeline, owners, dependencies, and documented outcome.
  • Surface blockers early, recommend a practical path forward, and drive follow-up until the issue is resolved or handed to a clear owner.
  • Field Sales support: Maintain territory and lead lists, support lead routing and pipeline hygiene, prepare pipeline reviews, coordinate sales materials and merchant events, and track follow-up actions so representatives can spend more time selling.
  • Partner Success support: Own the onboarding and launch-readiness tracker, document owners and next steps, coordinate the internal handoff after signing, and escalate blockers that could delay activation.
  • Process improvement: Document workflows and standard operating procedures, identify friction in the sales-to-launch lifecycle, clarify ownership, and implement practical improvements with the affected teams.
  • Project management: Turn each assigned initiative into a clear project plan with scope, milestones, owners, dependencies, risks, and a regular status update; run working sessions and follow through to completion.
  • Special projects: Serve as the directly responsible owner for selected high-priority initiatives from commercial leadership, especially work that crosses teams or needs short-term ownership to get established.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate decisions and dependencies with Operations, Marketing, Product, and other teams; document decisions and make sure each action has an owner.
  • Field support: Provide on-site coordination for Houston merchant events, field activities, and launches when in-person support is needed; this role supports sales execution but is not the primary owner of prospecting or closing.
  •
What You'll Bring
  • 1+ years of experience in sales operations, revenue operations, project management, business operations, customer success operations, or a similar cross-functional role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, deadlines, and changing priorities.
  • Strong project management skills, including turning ambiguous requests into clear plans, owners, milestones, and next steps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the judgment to keep different audiences informed without creating unnecessary noise.
  • High attention to detail and a strong bias toward action, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working with CRM data, spreadsheets, dashboards, and process documentation.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify patterns, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift as the Houston market develops.
  • Ability to work regularly with the Houston team and provide in-person support when business needs require it.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting field sales, account management, partner success, or a local market launch.
  • Experience working with restaurants, retailers, SMBs, marketplace businesses, logistics, or last-mile delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot, Google Sheets or Excel, and project-management platforms.
  • Experience building dashboards, reporting cadences, playbooks, or standard operating procedures.
  • Experience in an early-stage, high-growth, or operationally complex environment.
