Role Overview

The Commercial Lines Account Executive is the strategic relationship leader responsible for end-to-end client satisfaction, retention, and portfolio growth.

AEs are the primary client-facing representatives, owning the coverage strategy, producer relationships, and accountability for outcomes.

This is a leadership role (not managerial) — the AE leads Account Managers, CSRs, and international support to deliver a seamless client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Leadership: Serve as the primary contact for clients, agency owners, and producers. Manage relationships with transparency, empathy, and business acumen.
  • Coverage Expertise: Advise clients on coverage, endorsements, and risk strategies — ensuring policy accuracy and compliance.
  • Retention & Growth: Own overall book performance, ensuring 95%+ renewal and positive client feedback.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the Account Manager and CSR within each book, as well as offshore support teams, ensuring priorities and deadlines are clear.
  • Accountability: Be responsible for all retention and service metrics — if a client leaves, the AE is accountable for the “why.”
  • Workflow Oversight: Direct the sequence of work — delegate tasks appropriately to CSRs and AMs based on urgency and complexity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, carrier partners, and regional leads to resolve client issues or negotiate favorable outcomes.
  • Process and Quality Assurance: Identify service gaps, monitor quality of output, and mentor AMs and CSRs toward consistency and precision.

Experience & Skills

  • 6–8+ years of commercial insurance experience with direct client-relationship ownership.
  • Proven success in leading small servicing teams (onshore/offshore).
  • Advanced understanding of commercial lines coverages, endorsements, and compliance.
  • Strong familiarity with AMS systems and carrier portals.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Able to balance client management with high operational rigor.
  • Experience servicing multi-state commercial accounts (NY, CA, TX priority).

We can’t wait to hear from you. Apply today!
