Organization & Team Overview 

Comcast’s Broadcast Engineering team is responsible for the design, build, deployment, integration, and production of technologies and platforms that support channel origination — the backbone of how television content is delivered to millions of viewers. Our work spans traditional broadcast systems and cutting-edge cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of video content across platforms. 
 
As part of this team, you’ll collaborate with engineers who bring deep expertise in television, video workflows, infrastructure, cloud computing, and storage. You’ll be immersed in a dynamic environment where innovation meets reliability, and where your contributions will help shape the future of media delivery. 

 

Role Description 

Are you passionate about media technology, cloud platforms, and automation? Do you enjoy solving complex problems and working with cutting-edge tools in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? 
 
As a DevOps Intern on the Broadcast Engineering team, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the technologies that power Comcast’s channel origination and video delivery infrastructure. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to help streamline operations, improve system reliability, and enhance visibility across our platforms. 
 
In this role, you’ll be exposed to a wide range of DevOps practices including scripting, monitoring and visualization, operating systems, software version control, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), containers, and virtualization. You’ll have the opportunity to work with tools and platforms such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Docker, AWS, Grafana, Datadog, and CloudFormation. 
 
Your impact will be felt across the organization as you help automate workflows, improve observability, and contribute to the stability and scalability of our broadcast systems. 

Job Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Support monitoring and visualization initiatives across on-prem and virtualized channel delivery platforms. 

  • Assist in enhancing and automating workflows for channel switching and broadcast operations. 

  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to improve operational efficiency. 

  • Contribute to both production systems and internal tooling efforts, gaining exposure to real-world broadcast infrastructure. 

  • Collaborate with engineers to implement CI/CD practices and containerized solutions using Docker and AWS. 

  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system issues, helping to improve system reliability and uptime. 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. 

  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker. 

  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS. 

  • Knowledge of monitoring and visualization tools like Grafana and Datadog. 

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control systems. 

  • Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology. 

 

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university 

  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028) 

  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)  

  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026 

  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs 

  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Compensation

Base Pay: $32.00
