***CLOUD SALES ARCHITECT***

Remote U.S. or Canada-based Role

Altera Cloud, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family,  delivers secure, high-performance cloud platforms built for healthcare and beyond. With decades of experience hosting and managing electronic health records (EHRs), we understand the mission-critical nature of clinical and enterprise systems. Today, that same expertise extends across industries, helping organizations modernize, optimize, and run their applications in Microsoft Azure with unmatched reliability.

JOB SUMMARY

The Cloud Sales Architect role bridges technical depth with business insight — turning client goals into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions across Azure and AWS.

The primary objective of this role is to build a net new pipeline by expanding Altera Cloud’s reach beyond the traditional EMR/EPR client base to target a broader prospective client base. You’ll lead technical strategy, design custom, one-off architectures, develop proposals, and guide new clients through their cloud adoption journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Net New Business Generation: Actively build and mine a sales pipeline by driving connections, attending industry conferences, and establishing key client relationships. This role requires a high degree of proactiveness, self-drive, and sales abilities.
  • Design Custom Solutions: Translate complex business and technical requirements into comprehensive cloud architectures.
  • Engage Clients: Lead technical discussions, deliver demos and proof-of-concepts, and serve as a trusted advisor to executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Support Sales: Build technical estimates, craft proposals, and qualify opportunities alongside account teams.
  • Discovery & Strategy: Conduct deep technical assessments to identify current challenges, future goals, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Optimize for Value: Ensure solutions are cost-effective, secure, and aligned with long-term business outcomes.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with sales, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure smooth implementation and client success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 4–8 years’ experience in cloud architecture, pre-sales engineering, or solution design.
  • Proven ability to successfully build a customer pipeline from scratch. Must be highly personable, driven, and energetic with strong inside or outside sales experience. Successful at creating and nurturing relationships.
  • A background in public safety, utilities, or public sectors is preferred; (prior healthcare experience is not a requirement)
  • Must hold relevant architect certifications. Able to design scalable, resilient and secure cloud solutions on Azure and AWS.

TRAVEL

Travel is estimated at up to 50%, primarily driven by the need to conduct in-person client visits, attend conferences, and proactively build the new business pipeline across the U.S. and Canada. The successful candidate will be expected to drive their own travel schedule based on pipeline needs.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

This is a remote position open to candidates within the United States and Canada. The role is focused exclusively on U.S. and Canadian markets. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who operates effectively within a supportive, large technical organization.
