About Us:

Datacor is the leading provider of software solutions, including ERP, CRM, Asset Tracking, Simulation and Formulation, to the process manufacturing space. We are on a mission to better equip the industry with software solutions and move it forward by building thoughtful, intuitive products that solve our customers’ most difficult problems.

We are passionate about serving our customers and helping them use data as a competitive advantage. Our customers make products that extend and sustain lives by sanitizing, fertilizing, beautifying, cleaning, and recycling the world we live in. We at Datacor help our customers make those products you use every day more safely, cost effectively and more efficiently through our technology platforms and applications.

The Role:

We're seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to help architect and build our AWS cloud foundation. This is a technical leadership role where you'll design infrastructure-as-code solutions, create self-service platforms for development teams, and establish the architectural patterns that enable us to scale.

You'll work independently with limited supervision, making technical decisions about cloud architecture, security baselines, and infrastructure patterns.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Architecture

  • Design and implement AWS cloud architecture from the ground up, including multi-account strategy, networking patterns, security baselines, and environment configurations
  • Build infrastructure-as-code foundations using Terraform, creating reusable modules that encode organizational standards
  • Establish "golden paths" for common infrastructure patterns—making the right way the easy way

Platform Development

  • Create self-service infrastructure tooling (CLIs, APIs, or interfaces) that hide AWS complexity from internal users while maintaining security guardrails
  • Build abstraction layers that provide infrastructure provisioning without sacrificing governance
  • Develop documentation and enablement materials that teach teams to leverage infrastructure independently

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a technical authority on cloud infrastructure and architecture decisions
  • Establish observability foundations (logging, metrics, tracing) for platform health visibility
  • Automate operational tasks
  • Communicate complex technical decisions to engineering and business stakeholder

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform roles
  • Deep AWS expertise with production environment design (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation/CDK)
  • Terraform mastery including module design, state management, and multi-environment strategies
  • Platform thinking: Experience building self-service infrastructure or internal tooling that enables teams
  • Automation philosophy: Strong scripting/coding in Python, Go, Bash, or similar
  • Systems thinking: You make decisions based on multiple constraints—infrastructure, security, compliance, and developer experience must balance
  • Independent executor: You work autonomously, making sound technical judgments and seeking input when needed
  • Product mindset: You treat infrastructure as a product with internal customers, caring about developer experience and platform usability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) or self-service infrastructure
  • Regulated industries (chemical, manufacturing, healthcare, financial) with compliance requirements
  • Serverless Architecture and Lambda experience
  • Track record mentoring engineers and establishing infrastructure practices
  • Hybrid cloud or multi-cloud experience (AWS primary, Azure/GCP helpful)
