About the Job
The Cloud Infrastructure Architect is a customer-facing mid-to-senior (depending on experience) technical role. This role will work directly with Technology Leadership and the Engineering team to plan, build, and implement modern cloud infrastructure and application solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Leverage industry standard tools (Azure Migrate, RVTools, AzGovViz, amongst others) to perform analysis on existing on-premises, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and other systems to make and implement recommendations for operational efficiency, security & governance, and high availability across enterprise-wide, global application ecosystems.
- Independently host workshops and solution design sessions to upskill, educate, and define requirements for architecture and project engineering efforts.
- Lead the backlogging, effort estimation, and solutioning of project work to deliver engagements and engineering efforts in migration and modernization projects.
- Leverage the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF) to ensure that solution architectures and migration processes are designed in alignment with Microsoft best practices & industry standards.
- Leverage infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, Terraform) and automated processes (Azure DevOps YAML pipelines) to implement solutions reliably and repeatedly.
- Demonstrate deep technical experience in end-to-end lift-and-shift migration processes utilizing tools such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Data Migration Service, and Azure VMware Solution.
- Demonstrate deep technical experience in application platform services to help replatform workloads on-premises into cloud-native designs using application, data, and containerized services.
- Demonstrate deep technical experience in cloud networking, routing, and hybrid connectivity to design, implement, and troubleshoot at an enterprise level.
- Define and clearly communicate requirements to external stakeholders and internal project teams to manage expectations and timelines associated with project deliverables.
- Author robust diagrams and written technical documentation for project efforts.
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience with Azure cloud platform supporting infrastructure deployments, network deployments, and infrastructure-as-code (Bicep, Terraform) or systems scripting (PowerShell, Bash).Candidates without Azure experience should not apply.
- At least 5 years of experience in Systems Administration (or comparable experience) such as Windows Server administration, Linux systems administration, database administration (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- At least 3 years of experience in Network Administration (or comparable experience) such as Firewall management, Routing, Switching, and Cloud-native connectivity (ExpressRoute, Site to Site VPN tunnels, Load Balancing, etc.)
- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery principles, patterns, and applications.
- Experience supporting Production applications or workloads, being able to perform test and troubleshoot related issues.
- Experience in a consultative role or an engineering role working with more than one client environment at any given time.
- Experience modernizing, refactoring and/or deploying enterprise applications.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Software Engineering, or Information Technology preferred, butnotrequired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Expectations
- New hires for this role will complete the following certifications within the twelve (12) weeks of hire (paid for in full by Eastwall):
- Exam AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator
- Exam AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Exam AZ-700: Azure Network Engineer Associate
- Travel for this role is up to 10% within the continental United States
